As the title implies, I made a MESS out of the rivets and post on my 1st attempt. No worries though. I plan on using epoxy to put this one back together. Any tips, bit size , etc to make the next one a little cleaner? I would really prefer to rivet them back together.
Thanks

Cool linc ~ Thanks!
I was checking out thier technique for removing axles however, and it might prove a bit
unsatisfactory with JL axle crimps ~ those suckers are IN there!!!
They wanted you to take a hammer and a chisel to spead the crimps ~ while this is the method I use to spread the crimps away from the axle, it never full y frees the axles for me.
after that step, i'll then grind the crimps to ferther free the axles ~ a Dremel is a MUST!!!
The small barrel shaped stone works best. Your Dremel kit should come with a small sharpening stone. Use it to freshen the EDGE of the stone.
This makes do the job better by allowing you to grind more of the crimp away without
killing your axle.
Hope this helps some ~ but remember ~ you ain't goin' NOWHERE without a D R E M E L ! ! ! ! ~ G E T O N E ! ! ! ! Got one??? good.
If you need anymore help, post here, or PM me. Axle swappin' is a ball ~ have fun and good luck!!! Can't wait to see pics!!! What car/wheels are you working with???
Thanks for all the help.
I also customize McFarlane sports figures and did this in between coats on the figures. I almost lost my mind when this came out and knew it need more detail. I just have to add the spinners. Now to figure out how to cut them that small. I used to do a lot of 1/24 plastic models. 1/64 is a whole other story!
thay have a how to section there also. i go by gunisonbrook there. i show how to do hinges there along with some other stuff...later gunn
