bigun624 07-11-2007, 08:21 PM I sent you an email of some websites that might help. I have a tyco track a tomy track both ho scale, I have a 1/43 artin also. Its all about what your friend wants and how much room they have. some guys are putting ho tracks on a 36x80 door due to size. both of my ho tracks are 4x8. my 1/43 is 31/2x10 in 2 pieces that bolt together.1/32 they will need more room.
bigun624 07-11-2007, 08:31 PM There are also some websites out there that will tell you how to route your own. the tomy super international set is a good start 4lane 4 cars. the ho slotcar racing site can tell you about everything you want to know about ho track, cars, power, controllers, and building 1. also depends on type of racing they like. my tyco track is oval, my 1/43 is oval, my tomy is oval but i'm working on changing it to a road coarse all three tracks portable. the reason i have a 1/43 is cars are cheap and so is the track. the guys that have 1/43 do alot of modeling to the cars. hope this helps out. the 3 sites i sent you plus this one contain about everything you want to know about slotcars. there are some books and magazines out there if you want those websites let me know. I dont post links to other websites on the board because some boards dont allow it.
roadrner 07-11-2007, 08:35 PM Guess the first question would be how much space are you working with? Once you can come up with that figure you can start to consider scales. Next will be how big is the check you're willing to write to get into slots. Then you can start getting some good suggestions. Welcome to the board! :) rr

roachmobkiller 07-13-2007, 05:26 PM Bigun, I am in the eastern part of N.C. Charlotte is west of me a few hours drive. I read a post from someone interested in starting a slot club near Charlotte. I can not remember who the memeber was or the name of the post. It might be a bit far for me ( health reasons). Thank for your help, I will check out the site. If it ok I will e-mail you.
