I built one in a garage once. 4x8 sheet of 3/4" plywood and 2x2" framework with three folding 2x4" legs down one edge and attached via piano hinge to a 2x4" bolted to the wall studs. When folded up against the wall, three window locks held it in place.
Only stuck out 6" when folded up.

Wes,
Should be simple. Buy folding table legs, the same type used on all kinds of folding tables. You should be able to find them at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. I think they are around $18 a pair. They are a good height for your race table.

When I downsized to a door track, I used a pair of those from Lowes. Gives a table height of 30" to the bottom that's with a 1" X 4" affixed to the door to mount them to. Folds up nice and flat so if I need to store the track I only need a 6" gap to allow for the side walls I added to keep the TJets on the table. All the magnet cars the kids just fly off so they're not an issue. :freak: Kids, run 'em like there's no tomorrow. :) rr

ok here goes. i have my track 4 by 15 sitting on 2 folding tables under neath and its in the garage. i m trying to think of a way to make it foldable with wheels on bottom to move it on the wall so i can park my car in for summer you know. i got kicked out one room (its for my son's playroom) so thats more important ( i know i know - how can i argue with my wife on that)?? :)
i m thinking of like 6 legs (3 legs on left side with wheels only - and 3 legs on right side with some kind of click and it goes down the whole track is sideway and move it all on wheels to back of the wall... something like that.. i need some ideas, pictures , etc.. i did searched thru google, yahoo but no luck. i was hopeing someone here in HT might have some cool pics of their tracks..
