Its been established that the AW XT are too big for the axles. I got a tip from here about replaceing the axles with JLTO axles and it has been working great.

My reason for this post is to say that I came acros a chassis that has smaller front axle holes. I went to replace the axle on my orange Baja Bronco that I finished decaling tonight. I pulled the axle out and opened the holes in the wheels as required. Went and got a JLTO axle and it wouldn't fit in the holes in the chassis. Turns out the holes were a good soze for the smaller axle.

OK, as I was writing this I started thinking maybe its a leftover JL chassis. Sure enough, its marked Playing Mantis. I has the wide shoes.

Now, the question is did it come from AW like this, or did the seller do it?

When you first got the car, was it in the case? If no, then the seller probably switched chassis.

If yes, did the case have the shrink-wrap seal? If no, then the seller probably switched chassis.

If it did come with the seal, then it came from AW that way.

I do recall now. They were all sealed. Its a great running chassis.

Well, guess that one is figured out. Hmmmmmm. Going to have to check out my set of Broncos to see if I may have the same PM chassis sitting under those bods. I just unpacked those things and sat them in the case until I felt like tweaking them. :) rr

We also came across a few AW R1 T-Jets with Playing Mantis top plates. Guess they had a few leftover parts :) .
