I bought this from a local collector last Sunday for $18 green in his palm.It looks like a beater with major paint damage, although the decals are still 90% intact. These were supposed to be an exclusive Germany only issue, although those with A.I.M can say if Lesney shipped any across the Atlantic for members? I have read that Lesney didnt normally make runs of less than 500,000 peices, what with the special box for these that implies that there were 1/2 million of these at least in Germany in the late 1960s
The guy I bought this from has an affordable way to pay German ebayers who dont accept Paypal and often charge an arm & a leg for shipping. That collector has upgraded, and I have filled a gap in my collection that I didnt expect to fill for the price of 3 really good imported beers in my favourite bar :) as somebody once said, condition only matters when you already have one...So do the guys reading this think I got a fair shake, paid too much or dare I say it, got a bargain????

$20 bucks is a good deal. That is about what I would ask for that model. Maybe $28 in that condition. They are hard to find. Now find the regular BP model for $5 that you can steal the interior from.

The BP version is common but they are usually missing interiors, only 1
of my 3 has seats, and thats c9.5 and staying intact.Perhaps the seats on this model are the best example of an internal accessory that gets lost easily, most other accessories, even TVs for Rentasets, were supplied external to the model as far as I know
I found these 2 on saturday, for the price of 2 bottles of local beer in a bar :) The ´Playahs Puhleees´ (surely not advertisng smokes on kiddies toys???) 5c has very flakey paint having spent many years in a garage, and some fell off while I was getting it home, but not the common BP version. I didnt previously have the Firechief in my collection and it cleaned up well so I am pleased.

don’t know about current price, would have to go with matchboxtom

the 25 tanker was scarce until literally hundreds became available from europe, i can’t remember the exact location. they did become available on a no limit basis. the flyer from the early seventies explains more about it.

I bet those hundreds sold off at $8 each didnt get played with - it just goes to show that there are many hundreds, perhaps a few thousand serious Lesney collectors in the USA.Incredible the deals offered to collectors at the time, perhaps direct from Lesney or their German wholesaler -is this an AIM flyer?

this was an aim flyer, the $8.00 price was i believe including postage. because of this, the selling price drop from many sources. this happened a few other times with other models. :)
