View Full Version : Reel Rides - Release 2
jage1966 07-01-2007, 04:22 PM Here's what to expect in the fall from Reel Rides:
Back to the Future
Knight Rider
Blues Brothers
Casino
Italian Job
What's your reaction? I think it's list of great flicks, but with the exception of Casino, these have all been done before.

Pewter02WS6 07-01-2007, 05:28 PM i am always up for new movie/tv diecast but i had hoped we would have seen new rides that haven't been done before. also, IMO, nothing will top the japan hotwheels KITT & KARR and BTTF Deloreans with accuracy and detail. the only thing we can hope for is seeing a few of other famous vehicles in the series, namely the flag semi and goliath. there were a few other cars that appeared in the series that i would like to see as well. as for the blues brothers, this was done by ertl and johnny lightning, we don't need another. the italian job was already done and plentiful. as for casino, some of the rides were cool but nothing i desire in my collection. i like to see well known movie/tv vehicles that are easily recognizable which would mean that a lot of people would have had to see the movie or show.
if i were to vote for vehicles that were never done in any form, i would have to go with the goblin semi from maximum overdrive, the corvette from corvette summer, the turbo interceptor from the wraith and the crockett's first ferarri from miami vice. i could go on but i would have to say these would be high on my list of many. i don't know if reel rides are producing their own castings or not but this would hopefully be our chance to see some castings that would never be done by a big manufacturer like hotwheels or johnny lightning as they are in the business strictly for movie/tv cars.
spencer1984 07-02-2007, 08:49 AM As a 1/24 collector & builder, I'm really looking forward to it. We've never gotten a Bluesmobile/'74 Dodge in diecast or kit form, and nothing even close enough to make a custom. The last KITT replica in 1/24~1/25 was when AMT repopped the old MPC model kit, which was 20+ years old and full of inaccuracies that had to be corrected (wrong body type, wrong details, shallow interior, etc.).
Casino and Italian Job have some good potential, I'll have to see more details first. Back to the Future has been done in every scale, so I'm a little surprised to see that. Maybe we'll see some new cars like Biff's Ford.
As long as they release as many as possible in 1/24, I'll be a happy camper.
taurusud4 07-02-2007, 01:31 PM Looks like a great list. Most have been done before, but with wrong wheels or wrong proportions. Hopefully Reel Rides will get them spot on. If the Bluesmobile comes out in 1/64 with the proportions of the bigger corgi and ertl cars i'll be happy, the JL version just doesn't look right. Hopefully they will get the best bits of the JL and Charawheels Deloreon, assuming BTTF means Delorean.
DaWeber 07-02-2007, 07:23 PM If these all are in 1:64 scale they should be winners. I know BTTF will be the DeLorean and Blues Bros will no dubt be the Dodge police car. But what about the other 3 movies? Any suggestions? I never did get to see some of these flix!
CtotheB 07-02-2007, 09:35 PM Nice, I can't wait to see the DeLorean and the Mini's. Hopefully they will make it in 1/87th to match my model train set of Hill Valley, haha.
BigH827 07-21-2007, 12:29 AM I hope they make them in all tree scales as they did with the other cars, as I only want the HO/1/87 scale cars, I have a model rail road and they are much cheeper than the Busch and Model power cars. Around $2 is much better than $5 to $10 :freak: and some times more because of the name on the box.
What could they posibly do from "Casino"? The Porsche Roadster from "Top Gun" was a stretch (although a good one for the Porsche collectors - we bought it because of the car, not the movie ;) ).
Not a lot of options from "Casino", in my opnion. Perhaps De Niro's Cadillac? Sharon Stones's Mercedes?
