View Full Version : Body Post vs Side Pod Mounted Body Tim Mc 06-30-2007, 01:42 PM Which is best? Easy on/off, down force or longevity? Why do you prefer one over the other? Echeconnee 06-30-2007, 04:06 PM I'm a noob but so far I prefer the posts willyplankhead 06-30-2007, 07:05 PM as long as the body does not roll to much sidepods what i have and all i know but if i start haveing body roll would change to posts no Q about it Tim Mc 06-30-2007, 10:35 PM I'm starting to think the spoiler would serve a better purpose if I used rear posts. With my body mounted, I have applied down force to the spoiler and noitced a slight bowing of the body. Does this mean I'm loosing down force? willyplankhead 06-30-2007, 11:18 PM I'm starting to think the spoiler would serve a better purpose if I used rear posts. With my body mounted, I have applied down force to the spoiler and noitced a slight bowing of the body. Does this mean I'm loosing down force? by using posts you would put more direct downforce on the chassie with less body flex than sidepods in my oppion unless you have all 4 corners of the car and roof nice and snug with the sidepod mounts do not think our speeds are great enough to worry about the body bowing to much to affect the car just my oppion  dizzy 07-01-2007, 12:25 AM Who makes these posts and how do they mount on the car? bg77 07-01-2007, 01:52 AM I have run both, and I hate the zeus fastners. So, I run the post. Belf28 07-01-2007, 04:36 AM My GN car has 4 post and the 4 Dzus buttons on the side, the post are adjustable to meet roof height if needed. The post are mounted on the bumper channels or brackets off the channels Chance62 07-01-2007, 12:46 PM I have always used posts. You can find body post material at your local plastics store. It is best to use a delron type material that is somewhat ductile so it doesnt break too easy if you take a shot. I just put the 3/8" body posts in the 1/2" square tubes at the front and rear of the chassis (depending on what chassis you have) and drill through the posts and bolt them in using one of the bumper chanell bolts. Tim Mc 07-02-2007, 05:02 PM Anyone carry a set of tubing clamps that will mate up to posts? Tim Mc 04-26-2009, 04:56 PM Anyone have body posts mounted on a Pro1? If so, can you posts some pics of your mounting technique? It will have the Rockit style post mounts on it. They adjust better than any I have ever used. Tim Mc 04-27-2009, 12:30 AM I'm looking at something along the line of the rockit car. My thoughts are to make somthing that will work on both ends of the Pro1 chassis. Hey Jeff, is the Rockit a modified version of the Lightning or is a completely fab'd chassis from the ground up? jeffdavis38 04-27-2009, 02:33 PM Tim, Chance builds these chassis from the scratch. Its a good car. Bob at bobs motorsports has 4 chassis he will make a good deal on. Tim Mc 04-27-2009, 07:09 PM Oh sorry, didn't mean to mislead. It looks almost identical to a lightning and I thought it was possibly a mod-version of their car? I do like the body post mounts! Thanks Tim, Chance builds these chassis from the scratch.
