I wish I took some before pictures.

What a job it was to lowerthe AW AMX. I like the Tuff Ones wheels, so I just wanted the body as low as it can go with the Tuff Ones chassis. I figure take a littel off each post and I should be good to go. Has worked out like that on many other JLs and AWs. I go to see how the chassis fits and the very thick glass is resting on the chassis. So, I remove the chassis and grind down the nubs that locate the glass and thin the glass. It sems to fit good now, so I glue the glass back in. Now I notice that the sides of the chassis are resting on the sides of the glass. Luckily the glue hadn't set yet. So now I grind the sides of the glass a bit, now it seems to be fitting pretty good. I go to run the car and the front wheels are not hitting the track. I take the guide pin out and now the tires hit so I trim the guide pin. Tires still not touching the track. Turns out that when the pick-ups are on the rails the tires don't hit. I checked things out and see that the pick-ups are now hitting the bumper mounts as the car is put on the track, not allowing the tires to come down low enough to hit the track. I grind down the bumper mounts and thin the bumper mounting area and glue the bumper back in.

Finally I got it sitting the way I wanted it.

Yeah, baby!

I wanted to lower my Torino just so it might handle a bit better, eh. Now I want to do it because it really looks bichin'! (does anyone say "bichin' any more? :) )

Great job, man, and well worth the troubles!!

Yeah Joez, that Torino sure looks better after you take her down a little. Dave

Jeebus Mic! Those came out slick.

Great ride height and overall stance.

A First Class model murdering without a shred of forensic evidence!

Note to Joez: "Bichin" is the archaic pronounciation. All the cool kids know it's "bee-autch-en".

Hell to get old...Idn' it?

Thanks for the comlipments.

After I get a few more Torinos, I'll do one with "forensic" evidence. I want to see the wheel wells rounded out and that body really slammed and dressed like a fairgrounder.

I'd like to see one of the new Torino's in fairgrounds trim. Are you giving each one the drill blank treatment as you go along? dave

Very nice....
You know, I am glad that the cars do not sit that way when new...
If they did there would be less to modify... lol

I had the same sort of issues lowering a Boss Mustang. Wanted to try it for the clubs Stock T-jet class.

The rules state you canot cut the wheel wells higher for clearance but you can shave the inside of the fenderwells. And getting stock size wheels as wide as possible within the limits of a stock T-jet axle poses some unique problems when in conjunction with getting the body as low as possible.

The front wheel wells are thinned both on the sides and top to slightly thicker than contruction paper at the top. The rears are pretty close to that.

Sweet look on that Mustang.

I'll have to try that when I do my T/A.
