Allen’s R/C in Rochester, IL will host it's first major event of the summer this Saturday with the Allen’s Brushless Sprint Classic. The loose packed surface is smooth and offers great 3 wide racing.

Allen has been a long time supporter of the electric sprint car class and the facility has gained a National reputation of hosting some of the biggest brushless events in the country.

The race was originally scheduled for last Saturday but heavy rain forced postponement until this weekend. But the rain did not dampen the enthusiasm and the extra weeks delay will now make it possible for several other drivers to attend. Over 30 brushless sprints are expected with driver coming form Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

The Sprint class will use a BRL style format with 3 (5-minute) rounds of qualifying. The top 6 qualifiers will be locked into the A-main and compete in the Go-Fast Race Parts 25 lap dash to determine grid positions for the A. The winner will get the pole and $25 form Go-Fast.

The top 2 finishers in the B-main will bump to the 50 lap A and have a shot at some cash.

Brushless Sprint A-Main Payout
1.) $50
2.) $40
3.) $30
4.) $25
5.) $20

Allen's Sprint Classic $$$ Cash Race $$$

Wow what a great night of racing for Allen’s Sprint Classic. An awesome field of 28 Brushless Sprint car drivers were on hand for some exciting 3 wide racing on the new D shaped oval.

Congrats go to Rob "Wolfman" Mulvaney from Eureka, IL for taking the 50 lap A-main win. Rob bumped-up after winning the B and assumed the lead just after lap 30. TQ and Go-Fast Dash winner Eugene Ryder was the early leader but would see his left front wheel depart just after the midway point. Soon after Ryder’s car would crash hard into the turn 2 wall sparking a multi car tangle. The crash would eliminate Ryder and also second place runner Marks Corns. Mulvaney worked his way through the crash and would take home the $50 prize for the win. Chris Shearburn finished second followed by Tony Mitchell in third.

Gary Brannon took home the Gas Truck win. And Andrew Kelm son of famed R/C legend Mike Kelm took home the win in the JR Sportsman class. No truth to the rumor Mike is retiring to become Andrews crew chief.

Allen and I would like to thank all the racer and sponsors who made this event happen. We look forward to seeing everyone again on August 4th for Round 3 of the West Central Illinois Series.

And don’t forget to mark September 15th on your calender for the Sprint Car Triple Crown (more details coming soon).

Sonny - I think you made a typo, shouldn't it be "Hotstuff" instead of "Wolfman", lol

Nice job Rob.
