Hello to all....I am new to the slot car hobby and have been wondering if there is a way to scratchbuild 1:24 chassis. I am quite handing in building things and have built models and dioramas for years but would like to learn how to build my own chassis. Are there plans I could get or does anyone know how to do this ? ANy help for the new guy will be appreciated. Thanks

there is a website titled scratchbuilt.com - the actual address is like getyourownwebsite/scratchbuilt.com. No forum, but it has a lot of information, might at least be a good place to look.

I have seen this site before thank you, but what I am looking for are design plans or a how to article. I need to know what is best...brass wire, plastic or what ever else is needed. Any help from you guys would be a great help.

II need to know what is best...brass wire, plastic or what ever else is needed.

That is a question, that can not be answered without more informations. Even a Popsicle chassis is possible.

For what kind of track (wood or plastic tracks) do you plan to build the chassis and what Body will you put on it (plastic, resine or vac formed body)?

I have built a plastic chassis, which is easy to start with:

i am sorry, but as all of my chassis have different axle bases, motors and guide flags i do not make blueprints.

maybe this site can help: Prototype Chassis (http://www.adriansslotcarworld.co.uk/SBcar7.htm)

Hey thanks for all your help. What I am guessing is that the chassis pretty much are made to fit the bodies you are using so each one is truley custom made.I have the next week off so I think I am going to give all the info you have given me a try and see what happens. Thanks again for all your help.
