if the track isn't any bigger
i would say 13.5 would be best for the speed or less speed than 10.5

i do like the idea of nastruck touring oval

in this class
is any touring car ?
any batts ?
any tires

Yes any touring car....I have a 10.5 in my car now and it seems to be fine havent really played w/gearing yet however would be glad to run 13.5...oh and yes any batts and tires...I would like to stay away from lipo but I am open to ideas... As far as pan car points series I would happily talk w/Doug about it.....Thanks for the input keep it comin cause I would like to give Doug some numbers of people to show him there is intreset.....Also if any of you guys want to schedule some sunday racing right now let me know cause it is dead and doug could use the buisness....there were only 3 of us this past sunday....again thanks guys...

we heard some talk on that issue last season nothing happened though ! that would be nice if it did ,that would sure help the turn out at slots pancar wise cause most of run pancars at new castle

Crptracer

Left....I will talk w/Doug about it....However pancar is a new thing for Doug since last season he just started getting you guys there and he really doesnt have a customer base there but i think it is developing and that would be a great way to give it a push...the only concern I have is we need to come up w/ apoints system(which isnt that hard) and a schedule between the 2 tracks so we dont cause one track to lose any buisness... but I beleive new castle runs on sat. right....Now are you guys settled on brushed or brushless for the upcoming season....

Crptracer
06-20-2007, 09:27 PM
If you guys are going to run the 13.5 let me know cause that may boost the racers around slots to get into it.....most of them dont know there way around a 27t and they get frustrated when they cant figure it out and their getting stomped every sunday.....you know what I mean....Thanks

06-20-2007, 09:37 PM
yeah i know what you mean thats why i started running there some i needed practice passing i like runnning there it just needs to be promoted a little better to get the turn outs up !

I talked w/ Doug today and he was very supportive of the idea.....But there have been some problems in the past w/some of the Newcastle guys wanting to setup ther own hobby shop on the premises...which aint cool at all...I mean I dont setup my grill in mcdonalds parking lot you know......But lets hear some opinions.....do we want trophies...are you guys runnin 13.5 or willing......

i know who you are talking about that doesnt mean that the rest of us try that stuff probably should associate them with a certain track in the south cause they wasnt in new castle very much

It would probably help if you didnt kick people out of your facility for trying to help other people out in the hobby just a FYI. But not trying to tell you how to run your booming race track.

Crptracer
06-22-2007, 11:35 AM
merich for one its not my track....secondly coming to a track just to sell your sh*t aint that cool in my opinion....its one thing to sell a set of tires or a charger but to just come there to sell everything, Come on would you be happy about that? In the case of bringing a freakin trailer up there and setting up buisness in the parking lot thats a load of sh*t and you know it....I am all for everyone helping each other out to try an expand the hobby...I am not implicating new castle w/the acts of a few, I just want to race and the more racers that come the better the time and competition, Isnt that what is all about anyway?

CRPTRACER- Know your facts before you starting typing would be my first suggestion. I came by to look at the facility and see a few friends, i heard most of the guys were on a tight budget so i brought some of my stuff to sell at rock bottom prices, only tires and motors.
For the trailer thing, he pits out of his trailer no matter where he races and talked to the shop owner the day before and told him he would not be selling anything just wanted to race, that is what he did and the owner flipped out acting like a 5 year old would after he got his train taken away. I dont care if he owns a small strip mall on the southside of indianapolis or if he owns all of simon property group you dont talk or treat people like that even if your frustrated how they are acting in your facilty. Do you think the manager of Walmart comes up to you when your kid is running around the store screeming at the top of his lungs and pissing everybody off in the store and tells you to leave or he is going to call the cops NO because they know how to run a business. I talk to a lot of people in racing and everyone of them have said the same things, I will not step foot in that place after hearing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a common thing in the RC industy to sell stuff at tracks or facilities to help out other people, I do disagree with setting up a new hobby shop up but that was not done. If he wasnt to recreate the RC wheel then good luck, he better have alot of money to start paying people to race at his track!!!!!!!!!

If Indy Slots wants to grow oval racing (especially pan cars) they are going to have to stock a few necessary oval parts. A short list for pan cars would include front end parts (shared with most 1/12 cars), t-plates, and at least a few foam pancar tires. There would be no need to have a wall full of parts. Until that happens there is going to be an issue of people selling parts in or around the facility. Not everyone has a big budget and for many racers used is the only option.

Back to the point of the thread - B/L touring oval. As long as there are set rules, I think you will get racers to show up. Ft. Wayne has a B/L touring truck oval class using rubbers tires - I believe that are using the 10.5 motor. Terre Haute has a Stock touring truck oval class with foam and rubber tires.

I personally think foam is the better way to go, but I think a 13.5 6-cell Brushless Touring Truck oval class would probably work well. If you want to have it be a class that the T-Spec guys can move up to, you should make it foam tires. Because the batteries are on the wrong side for oval on the T-Spec, foam tires would be easier to use on that car if it had a truck body.

merich...I honestly dont care who sells what where or who wants or doesnt want to race at slots...But when I go and try to setup something w/Doug I dont want to bring on things that I know have caused problems in the past....I just want to get some structure to the racing up there and get some of the guys that are dominating T-spec class to get out and move up to touring oval 13.5 or 10.5 foam and get some more of the new castle guys back down for some racing and if I can get some pan car issues takin care of and make it a better experience for all then great if not oh well I just want some more cars on the track...

Indy...I definitely agree w/you on the pan car parts....I do think 13.5 foam is the way to go......Is pancar going to 4cell 13.5 this year?

Crptracer
06-22-2007, 04:50 PM
merich.....I have never heard that version of the story before.....If I am wrong then Im wrong isnt the first and wont be the last I am sure of that....I hope you can see where I am coming from...

I think you should retire also since the velo wrecks were because your alzheimers kicked in and you forgot what track you were at.....plus getting hit by Indycar shrapnel.....you didn't happen to find a red progressive spring in your nose or other orifice by any chance?

1 class for the low turn out would be good to start building
13.5 and stock can be combined for the stock class

every week would hard to race for me ...

we are going to run 10.5 brushless w/foams any chassis in our touring car oval class.....Pan cars I guess will remain the same 4cell stock or 6cell stock and possibly a pancar class 13.5 4cell and or 6cell...I dont think we will be mixing the B/L and stock that I think would defeat the purpose of creating classes....which is normally the biggest complaint @ slots...I think B/L is going to be the way to go....I know you guys have alot of money in dynos and stuff as do I but thats the way technology works...any way let me hear what you guys think and I know there are guys that dont like slots but you dont have to race there.....I would like to get some of you guys to come and race on sundays this summer.....Let me know if you guys have a date in which u would want to do that and we could set something up touring or pan whatever

jason crist
06-26-2007, 07:58 PM
sounds good on the classes

you have to make the classes and the racers will run what they want.
