This is my home shop . all tracks have computer lap counters . 4 lane HO is a routed track , 10 ( yes 10 ) lane Tomy track , Routed 2 lane HO drag strip . Computer gives you R.T, E.T , and speed in MPH , and that is a four lane 1/32 scale ( I believe Scalextric sport ) track , but most people run 1/43 Carrera go cars ( at 11 bucks apeiece who can blame them !) Just minutes from down town pittsburgh ! If you in the Western PA area make sure you plan to spend some time there the track time is free And There selection of cars and tracks is second to none !

Dear Piz, I would like to travel from my home country of Alabamia and do a documentary on recreation in Pittsburgh, land of unlimited bounty and opportunity. Forget that author man of dubious character, I am most famous documentary film maker in my yard, er land, and would bring glory and honor to slot car track - er, community you live in. I do have passport. Please be sending plane ticket.

Seriously, I have an occasional dream (or nightmare) about finding just such a place. Parts, tracks, all the things the things that we look for in a hobby shop. It looks like a time capsule or something. Wish I had a place like this near me!! ... The (nightmare) part of my dream is that the store recently opened after being closed for 37 years, had been open for a week, I just found out about them, and all the original aurora tjets were already bought up by all you guys!!! ...Talk about "you snooze you lose". I wnoder if there are any stores tucked away in some backwater town, that closed up, locked the doors years ago, but still have stock on the shelves? Every once in a while you hear a rumor. hmmm...dave (now drooling).
