View Full Version : Weight Tommygun43 06-14-2007, 12:57 AM Anyone close to 41 oz. with there brushless car? swtour 06-14-2007, 01:23 AM ...way under w/ LIPO's...LOL 98Ron 06-14-2007, 08:28 AM I am at 43 with my mav 05, ss speedcontrol and 4300. pmsimkins 06-14-2007, 09:27 AM With foams I am right on 41. KSG Gen1, GTB (w/ heatsink still attached). With caps about 42.5. stoneman 06-14-2007, 09:36 AM My custom works was at 40.2 I had to find some led weight. brian0525 06-14-2007, 09:37 AM I have seen a 0700 39 oz. with a brushless setup on caps! katf1sh 06-14-2007, 01:52 PM my maverick 5.5 is at 41.225 race ready MIKE VALENTINE 06-14-2007, 02:55 PM Weight has always been an issue and will continue to be. I have seen some people be able to build light cars, while others even with the same car and same electronics never be able to come close to weight. I haven't seen allot of brushless cars, but the few I have seen on the scales seem to be following the brushed cars in that respect. One car was Dq'ed for being to light, while anothers guys car (same car and same electrics0 was 3 oz's over min, go figure. swtour 06-14-2007, 03:44 PM ...I've seen same thing...we only run 38 oz weight rules for 4 cell (SAME WEIGHT as when 4 CELL was very first APPROVED), most cars come in at or around 40-41 oz. BUT we do have a couple guys running KSG cars, especially on foams on carpet w/ LIGHTLY painted bodies w/ spoilers...just barely tipping the 38oz mark... pmsimkins 06-14-2007, 03:46 PM How you paint the body makes a difference. That's how I justify being too lazy to paint a nice looking body. The boring 1 color paint scheme is lighter. I think it's the little details that really add up one way or the other. I've had plenty of cars that were way light and I've never found the car to be slower after i added lead to make wieght. I really don't worry about it. Tommygun43 06-14-2007, 05:03 PM ya this last body I painted is candy colored so I had to back it with silver, It's gotta be pretty heavy. I wonder how much 2 1/2 oz. over weight matters on the track? pmsimkins 06-14-2007, 05:23 PM I would say very little. Tommygun43 06-14-2007, 07:16 PM what did you say pat, 2 laps alright, DIALED! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
