It was announced today that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will join Hendrick Motorsports as team driver along with NASCAR champs Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson...

Dale Jr, who announced his plans to leave DEI at the end of the season, was reportedly "scouting new rides" and "looking for a comfortable place to hang my hat." Reportedly, having looked closely at the Hendrick operation, Junior "liked what he saw.....in HMS' future."

Team owner Rick Hendrick: "It's a 'wow' day...who would've ever thought it."

Senior and Jeff were actually close...They co-started Chase Authentics.

But anyways..As long Jr. is driving a Chevy, I'll still support him.

I can't stand hms, and therefore will no longer pull for Jr. I think it's a sad day in Nascar when Earnhardt Jr. leaves the team started by his father to run with cheaters inc.! :cry:

If Jr wants a championship thats the best place for him to go I guess.

This is late in coming, but I was overjoyed by Jr.'s announcement. I'm a Jr. fan AND a Jeff fan. I want to see Jr. win a championship, and HMS is the best place to do that at. DEI just isn't nowhere near as competitive. As for HMS being cheaters, that's a part of NASCAR, always has been. They're not the only ones.

I can't wait for Jr. to start next year! :)

Yeah rumor has it he will NOT have budweiser as his sponsor !! Heard that SONY will sponsor his car , should make out for a very interesting paint scheme nextyear !!

First I heard it was Pepsi/Mountain Dew. Then I heard he had signed with Sony. Now jayski is saying "It's expected that PepsiCo Inc., possibly with the Mountain Dew brand or a combination of Pepsi products, will sponsor Earnhardt next season in the #5 Chevy [or possibly the #8] for Hendrick." I think Bud is pretty much out of the picture.

Hopefully it will be the #8. I've already got my Free the Eight sticker on my car. :)
