I have an older yardman from sears (143 006 002) it is from the 80's. It has a 16HP twin2 engine that I can't find the model number for anywhere on it. I think the sticker has come off before it came into my possesion. The above number from sears is now the number for a pull cord from 2000. Any advice would be helpful (accept get a new tractor).

The model number you have 143.006-002 is a Sears engine model number.

Which would be a Tecumseh TVS120-66021. The number 143.006-002 is still a good engine number on the Sears site, but this is a single cylinder engine in the 12 HP range. Where did you find this number and has the engine been changed?

The tractor more likely a American Yard Machine and the Sears Model number would start with 917.xxxxxxxx. Look under the seat of the tractor for model number.
