No prank. Cannon was an enormous ratings grabber for a few years. Filmation would probably have had a hit with the concept.

Maybe they could have paired it with Young Barnaby Jones.

Young Longstreet.

"Blinded by a radioactive isotope, a young boy ..."

Oh, wait.

In the '70s there was a trend of turning live-action TV shows into Saturday morning cartoons. Besides STAR TREK, I can remember cartoon versions of THE BRADY BUNCH, GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, and THE ODD COUPLE. I even remember a one-shot/pilot cartoon of LOST IN SPACE.

Oh thanks, now I'm gonna have that frakkin' "I'm a number one son of a number one man" song running thru my head for the next couple of weeks.

my favorite martains? starring johanthan harris????

filmation must have had such a huge hit with the animated star trek that they just started cranking them out and anything was fair game. (besides its easier than thinking up new ideas)
