Decided to give this movie a shot based on the various forums I visit. My local video store has it but I was told that no-one can shut off the directors commentary so they pulled them from the shelves. I said I would still give it a shot and.. in spite of owning almost 1000 DVD movies, I can't figure out how to shut it off either. Does anyone know the secret on turning this annoying (IMO) commentary off or did my local store get a couple of dozen bum discs (which is doubtful). Please let me know the secret, I enjoy the commentarty on alot of movies but really want to watch it without the first couple of times. And no, it is not an option in the special feature menu as far as I can tell. There is a menu selection for commentary but no on/off toggle I can figure out.

Color me frustrated.

Sounds like a problem w/the programming. Someone at the factory fouled up on the layering/encoding, methinks.

Same here, no problem and I bought it just as soon as it hit the shelf.

Can you change audio tracks from your remote?

I ended up watching it in Spanish w/English sub-titles. The only track I was having trouble with was the English one. I asked at the store and she checked in the back and the other discs were the same (the 2 or 3 she checked anyway). Very interesting movie, after the first 10 minutes I barely noticed I was reading along.

um, there is no english track, just spanish.

The director's commentary is in english which may cause some confusion.

Think ya hit the nail on the head Bro. There is no English audio track. It's Spanish with subtitles, just the way the film was released.

So the movie audio is ONLY available in Spanish and the commentary is ONLY available in English? Interesting.

So what are your opinions of the film? Is it too brutal?

Too brutal for whom? I saw it in the theater and strongly wished that my 8 year-old daughter could see it. But it is admittedly too brutal for her.

Since it's not labeled as a commentary only track, and I didn't know it was in Spanish only. It caused way more than some confusion, we have a rather large Spanish speaking population around here and I had never heard this. Granted it was only in one of the local multi-plexes, and then only for a week or two, some of the popcorn stays around longer.

Not surprised, I knew the film was only in Spanish with subtitles, so I didn't bother to look at the menu, I didn't really care if it was 5.1, stereo, mono, or some alien sound steering.

A lot of director are only allowing their films to be released on disc the way they came out in the theater. There are no fullscream versions of some films, 'course that'll change if sales go down.
