Hey Guys
Back from my 2-month full time assignment doing period and have some free time again.
Quick question, I have some AFX turbo cars, and one of the AFX ligted cars, my lighted car performs a lot worse than the others, are the lights using more power or it is just a coincidence.

I would think there would be minimal draw to support the light but nothing that would make a significant difference between two otherwise similar chassis (Tires, cleaning, tuning, etc...). But then again :freak: rr

I notice a difference between my lighted chassis and non-lighted chassis, especially with a wallwart power supply. The difference is much less since I went to a regulated 3 AMP power supply. I usually take the lights out anyway. I don't even like the way they work.

The lights do impact lap times significantly. Those lighted GTP bodies are heavier and the center of gravity is higher and that also impacts lap times. My faster X-Tractions can compete with the stock Tomy Turbo lighted GTP cars.

I have no technical explanations for performance of cars with lights vs. those without but I do know that in my experience, there is a significant difference. Lights don't exist in mine and probably never will. :p

Any of you want to get rid of those excess lights? My kids think they are cool (me too).

The lighted Turbo cars I have where the lighting package is in the body were completely dud chassis. I'm talking sssslllllooooowwwww!!!!!
Our league doesn't run the Turbo so I never really did much research other than to change to a faster chassis. The faster chassis under the lighted body ran fine.
