Over the last few years, Schuco have released several model tractors - mainly German marques.
This, in my opinion, is their best - the Fendt Favorit III with adjustable front loader.

I'm not into tractors Steve.
The thing that amazes me is that a company can produce these high quality castings and sell them to enough 1/43 scale diecast collectors.

Yes, I agree. The only reason to have a tractor model is what? Quality workmanship may account for Steve's interest in the Schuco releases. Yet when I go to Dyersville I am surprised by the agricultural tractor focus and the variety of brands (models and manufacturers) and types of tractor models available for sale. There are very few tractors available in Dyersville in 1/43 scale but they are abundant in other scales. I think I might have one 1/43 scale tractor from Ertl somewhere; I will look.

I grew up working on farms so I like the tractors. That one has some nice detail.
Thanks for the pics.

May I ask what this tractor would cost in the USA jinx? Just curious.

Hi Ray - the Schuco tractors cost around £20-25 or approx US$40-50. However, things seem to be cheaper in the US - problem is, I can't see these models being very attractive in N America - the subjects are all European & the scale of 1:43 isn't that popular on your side of the pond either.
As Ranchero said, there is a market for agricultural models, although, they are usually made in 1:32 or 1:16 scales - Guntownal has a relevant point - he grew up with farm equipment and consequently retains an interest.
You'll be well aware that there are all sorts of different models, which appeal to different people. Busses, in 1:76, are very popular in the UK - in Continental Europe, "HO" or 1:87 models, sell well. People collect what attracts them, be it trucks, construction equipment, fire engines or whatever. Personally, as long it is 1:43 and I like it, I'll buy it. As the saying goes, "variety is the spice of life". :)

This is the only 1/43 scale tractor in my collection. It is a Minneapolis-Moline G750 by Ertl. It seems to be a special event casting; the phrase "1994 National Farm Toy Show" is cast into the bottom of the tractor. A friend in Iowa gave it to me. It is crude but probably some collector somewhere likes it.
