Good time this weekend......... Track got whooped out but they seem to take care of it when it really needed it. Hope they change the layout for the last race..... Might have to get my ROAR rule book to check on the minimum width for lanes.... it was tite... going to State line this weekend to get some extra practice for the next Race... Once again had a fun time this weekend.....

Fatkid24,

FTMS Electric Race is at State Line this weekend. Since most weekends they have a heavy nitro turn out this is gonna be the best conditions prior to the MARS race. The nitro boys won't be there rutting the place all up.

That's exactly why were going...... thanks jwoodyu need to get the edge wher ever I can get it. to bad the turn out was low this past weekend.

ROAR min. width is 8' but it really doesn't matter as MARS is a level 1 race and thus does not have to follow ROAR rules.

jwoodyu
07-02-2007, 05:34 PM
Yeah I am sure it was mostly due to the holiday weekend. I am sure it will pick up as the State Line track is going to be a BALL! Still the MARS may be well served to consider making a few changes to keep up. Posting the results and standing would be a good start.

yes all lanes are 8 to 9 feet wide to meet the ROAR rules. Due to the hill side it doesnt look like they are, the bottom looks wide and the top looks smaller. Thanks M40 r/c track

lammotts.... will you be doing a new layout for the last race?????

FishRC
07-03-2007, 08:35 AM
I did hear a few comments on how tight it was. Walking off the distance in a few spots that looks tight I found nothing under 8'. But when we get used to 10' to 12' wide lanes, a true 8' one looks small. But that was a lot of fun too! that up hill diagonal with a little curve to it was making everyone think. Drive a good line and you were quick, if you were off you rubed the tube. With the hill they have it also adds to the challnage. I'd take this kind of track over a hard packed flat clay track any day. I know the "big guys" like the smooth, hard, fast clay tracks, but for me that just is not offroad.

Off-road racing is exactly that....RACING....I didn't see much of that this weekend......Saw a lot of generally amazing drivers struggle......This was more of an Off-road Hold on for dear life.......

No control.....

The problem I see is everybody whants to go fast. Put in a 9 turn when you should be runnig a 19 turn .
THE FASTEST MOTOR'S ISN'T ALWAYS THE FASTEST WAY.

Good Point AIRCONDE....... Looks like a lot of the Mod guys should try stock.... . Yea you have to buy a motor but maybe you'll finish a race without breaking. Could be cheaper in the long run...... Just a fatkids opinion.......

I completely agree with the whole motor issue......It's hard to believe that people were out there running Novak 5.5 motors all weekend!!!!! I have no idea how they pulled that one off.

e-clowne, Jones was a blast. Nice to see not a lot of marshaling issues. I had a 19 turn in my mod truck run. It was faster than my brushless.

I was at state line last night the track is a lot longer then last year and the lanes are 12' . Even though its long and wide every section can bite you and its a fun layout. The layout is established and they were adding clay and packing so it should be in good shape or this weekend.

The track was definitely challenging!! It took some getting used to the elevation changes messing with the old depth perception.. it was A parts munching weekend, but mega fun. That track would be a riot if I ran it on a regular basis.
