Sure you can help with the B-main car count.

Might be a good weekend for the former Mayor of Machesney to make a return.

I think not Mr. Mayor!!!...
That's why your making your way back to MPR with YOU and "HOLLYWOOD" Joe Brooks (I am hoping he can be ready) we can have a C Main in the door stop class...

Sprint car just arrived but with all that I have going on it will not be ready until later in the year. Not sure about JB’s status but I know he had a pretty full plate at home right now.

Working to get the GN car ready, was hoping for Iowa but MPR may be more realistic.

And I Quote Mr. Mayor,

"Might be a good weekend for the former Mayor of Machesney to make a return."
"Sprint car just arrived but with all that I have going on it will not be ready until later in the year."

Already it starts(my car is to slow, my car is to cold, my car is to ugly) what's next???...

Fred-

The body is almost complete. I ended up going with my own design on the body. I will be curious to get opinions from you and Randy. Will have it out this weekend for it's first shake-down.

Look forward to seeing you, Randy and whoever else you bring with you. Should be a good time.

Regards,
Joe

the 21st midwest nationals are in the books for those of you that did not come due to rain, we never had a rain drop from 7am till now 11:08 pm when we left, we had nasty looking skys but NO RAIN
very good sportsman race for Mike Dygon running 2nd on the same lap as winner Randy Brown, if Randy would have made a mistake Mike would have been there for the win.
Sprinters had some good racing also with Randy Baker taking the win with Bob Elliott in 2nd and Larry Hopson in 3rd

Met a new face this weekend Mr Jim Bell very nice guy and fast, oh ya also the concourse winner Jim Bell, and Randy Baker.

Just wanna say thank you for you support and a fun day at the races.

I would like to thank all of the MPR "REGULARS" for hosting another great race. Those power puff girls can sure cook (much better than "SMOKE" ever did). I am not sue on the complete orders of finishing for either class so I will refrain from much of a race report. Randy Brown won the sportsman A main with "ROOKIE SENSATION" Mike Dygon only about 1/2 second behind, Tom Urban who now lives in Flordia (former MPR regular) finished in 3rd place. In the sprint car class Randy Baker was fast all day , Randy won the A main, Bob the gear guy was 2nd and I think Larry Hobson was 3rd. I am sure DMP can post the complete finishing orders for those of you that are interested!!!...

The skys were over cast most of the day. track drying started early and it was not long till the sportsman cars were laying down rubber. A few sprinter drivers joined the mix and soon we were all ready for some fast laps. I can only comment on the sprinters as I was working on my ride when not on the track. This is something I should have done in days prior to departing for the race. I did not know that I was going to have to change more than the gear and tires. Any way Randy Baker got the handel on his car early and was fast as usual. Bob Elliott was fast also, as was Larry Hopson and his hired gun for his pro1 sprinter. I must say I'm sorry as his name has slipped through my mind as does alot of thigs these days. When it comes back to me I will edit this post and give proper recognisition. I did get the gremlins out of my ride but a brain fart caused me to hit the wall and break a heim in the main. Order of finish was.
Randy Baker, Bob Elliott, Larry Hopson, Fred Murry and ole whats his name....
Sprint concourse winner was Randy Baker. Randy Baker also won the 10 lap dash for a pair of tires of choice from Todd Bishop.
Thanks to the MPR gang for putting on a fine race, again as usual. And a special thanks to the maunfactures who donated prizes. I do not recall what the donations were and from who so I will just say thanks. If you ever want to have a great time racing your 1/4 scale MPR is one of the best places I know to go to.

Ok , Ok I'm slow . Wanted to add my thanks to the MPR crew for a fun filled day , as always , for the Mid West Nats . For those that have not raced there or have passed up on one of their races , this is a track to put on your schedule . It's a fast , smoothe banked track , close racing , good people and great food . Wish I lived closer and I would attend more myself . Dave to answer your question about how many , 03 - 04 -06 -07 . 05 was the year Randi had her heart attack two days before the race and I stayed home with her . She wanted me to go but my head wasn't into racing that day . I do believe if my memory serves that Mr. Mayor won that race. Looking forward to returning for the #3 Tri-State Race on Sept 29th.

Definitely by 2010. We have some long-range strategic planning in place that will allow us to exceed the capability of the competition.
