These are two Matchbox cars I modified to run on TOMY slotted track.
I kept seeing the Match box RPS slotless rd/sv #10 Porsche' at the HO-NJ ,Philly & HO-LI shows for the longest time & held off as I am now doing a lot of casting & prototyping. It kept saying "Buy me" & I finally succumbed for about $3.00.
Since I no longer have my pre-marriage slot car budget( I always preffered to put the bodies on slotted chassis's like TOMY & TYCO ) I opted to just modify my find to run on slotted track just like I did the Matchbox speedtrack blue #2 Pinto modified.I simply drilled a hole in front , added a guide pin & removed the bumper on the slotless chassis.Runs quite good but you must have the p/u shoes that are identical on either side.
The Speedtrack Modified Pinto was modified using TYCO TCR p/u shoes using some filing to fit on the chassis.Runs nicely with silicone tires in the rear but I still prefer the TOMY G+ chassis.Just got no mo' $$$$$ so I have to make do !
I used to do this modification when I first got into collecting Matchbox but I lewarned to mount the bodies on slotted chassis & liked the performance better so I passed the chassis I did to a close friend.
