Depends on the venue (outdoor, indoor, type of dirt, track layout).....Sat and Wed nights there is Nitro racing at Fastraxx. Just ask .... One of the racers will be glad to help.
Rule of thumb for me is aggessive tread for a loose surface and the opposite for high bite tracks...

BIG.......I couldn't guess to what kinda traction there will be.. But I would tend to say it will be loose at first due to the temporary nature of it...it is being built just for this race...after some runs are put down it will groove up.

Panther Boa clay and Traxxas Response are the best tire out there they are narrow and work well with the light weight of the truck.
I personally use the Ofna 17mm hubs with Kyosho STR wheels. I run the Traxxas response tires on XTM XLB buggy wheels.

The first thing you need is the traxxas extended rear arms. before you even buy tires.

j run a 3.3 but your 2,5 with tekno ext arms will be just a 1/2 shorter than a 3.3 an it will help the balance and i would put a wing on it not the tekno put an 1/8 scale mount wing on it

Use packing tape( the tape with strings in it) turn your tires inside out and put a couple layers of tape. use OFNA molded yellow foam and glue them up. They wont baloon any more.
