the wheel well difference didn’t come out too well in this picture. the window pillar angles and window sizes are different(as with the reg wheel version), from what i have they go along with the wheel well difference.

moutain,
for years i was under the firm impression the red VW superfast model with the red imprint superfast box (pictured on top) was a canadian release only...this changed last year as several us blister packs surfaced....

your red number 75 with silver front trim, can you recall if you released it from a blister pack.....i believe these were all placed in blister packs for a point of purchase sale, but were not sold as hobby only boxed releases. just curious. also one interesting note, a good number of the silver trimmed models show damage in the blister pack to the passenger side (which faces the cardboard side of the blister pack) very front just behind the headlight
Your silver trim on the headlights looks like mine, applied a bit in the factory hast :freak:
This model along with a few others in this release should have a degree of odd tires also - some with tread lines on the outer edge...some smooth, and all mixed up to boot !

Green SF Berlinetta next to a red one with factory silver trim :freak: incredible to see, owning since new must be even more amazing knowing all along how short the production was. Those red SF VW s are amazing too, just fantasy stuff for a collector with my pockets :o ,so I will just dream and enjoy this virtual collection. Thanks for sharing

don’t know about the vw release, i wish there had been more discussing and cataloging with the boxes.
i want to say the silver trim ferrari was a boxed model but can’t remember. some of the higher end department stores carried boxed only matchbox, so it can be confusing.
that was a shoddy cast on the ferrari, with and without silver trim.
here are a few more and some have bad fenders. it does show the red shade difference. also as you said with the treads and slicks. that whole treads/slicks and hollow/solid wheels variation didn’t catch on, possibly because it could lead to having dozens of one model. same with die numbers.

:freak: 9 Ferrari G boxes that look real crisp - how many collectors on the planet could possibly have an awesome collection like yours, Mountain? With all the stuff going on at hotwheels conventions if I had a collection like yours I wouldnt feel comfortable having the collecting community know where I lived

thanks :) , there must be some nice collections packed away somewhere. it should be close to the time for seventies and maybe early eighties to become very collectable.
i have no idea what would make somebody steal a collection. the fun is the show and tell part of collecting.
having to hide something because it was stolen doesn’t make to much sense.

It's a real treat to see these transitionals posted.
I'll have to throw mine up sometime.
Those # 75's are amazing! Thanks for showing them off.
