I would like to say thanks to Tom for making a product that is enjoyable to collect and use I don't own all the cars that are available nor do I wish to BUT I do own enough to say thanks for all the time, money and effort put forth it is appreciated I think you are doing a great job and look forward to the future releases
I felt it was necessary to say this since I have been reading this form for a long time and I am sick of all the crying and unappreciative comments made here just because we collect cars that we had when we were kids doesn't mean we have to act like kids I personally could care less about white lightnings etc... unless I actually like the car in that color best of luck and THANKS for making my hobby fun
also I agree with you 100% if you don't like them don't buy them I wonder if Aurora were still making cars like they did back in the day if people would bash them last time I checked people are in BUSINESS to make money not to lose it

First off... Aurora didn;t pull this "buy it all or you can;t buy any" crap.. so that point is moot

Secondly.. most of us LIKE AW's product... we just would like to be able to buy MORE of them, without all the restrictions (and extra expense) attached to it.

And finally, how does the selling of individual cars hurt anyone?
AW would sell more product, dealers would sell more cars, racers would buy more cars, and collectors would still be willing to pay extra for the chase cars...EVERYONE wins.

get it?

So yes, thanks Tom for making a nice product... now how about dumping the dopey marking scheme and let us just buy the cars we want without all the hassle and extra expense? All we're trying to do is spend MORE money on your product.

I agree. If the whites were sold individually, I would buy a couple. But if I have to buy this whole set then that whole set, forget it. I will buy none. More money for me to go searching on the Bay. Dave.

I would like a 2 car per month club. then at the end of the year, after you purchased all the cars you would get a special "gift" car. One per household/address/name.
Or 4 car per month. and keep the cars a suprise. I would buy in. It would be like christmas every month.

Uh? The dreaded Vibes!

You don't think Aurora got their heads bashed in on the Vibes.
Do you think there wasn't some serious pee whining and subsequent scrambling by Aurora to find a replacement for the collagenous, clattering piece of junk that was the Vibrator? God I love those 'lil buggers.

They were a rolling nightmare! The sort of gadget that makes a Swiss watchmaker throw his tools through the window and take up plumbing. For the sake of argument I'd like to see some figures on warranty claims, distributor like for like swapouts to appease disgruntled customers, and field reports from crucified salesman. snicker

The interesting thing here is that Aurora stepped up to the plate, listened to whine and crackers and developed something that actually worked. Curiously this timeless design still works quite well when the tolerances are kept within spec! Hmmmmmm? Thousands of racers cant be wrong!

Aurora knew it was in deep Doo with the vibrator from the git go. They got off the schneide designed and built one of the greatest slot cars ever.

Time ticked on. The fox (Tyco) was in the henhouse. Low slung, fast, equally affordable and mopping up T-jets like a Union janitor. Aurora was again getting bashed, this time on the track. Racing improves the breed and it dont matter whether it's big cars or little cars! Did Aurora say take it or leave it? Not hardly! They milked another good decade+ out of a redesigned pancake in the form of AFX. They were fast, beautifully styled, and above all they possessed a high quality durable chassis!

So whats my point?! The point is that AW's quality control on the mechanicals should at least be brought back to a reasonable facsimile of 1960's/70's technology they represent. Make good bodies? Make good chassis to compliment quality coachman ship!

I have always praised AW's coachman ship. The problem is they don't fit NOS T-jet chassis. snicker. That's by design. "Butcher your car or use our chassis that fits." Dat's just good bidness!

Get the quality of the mechanicals up and folks will scarf your cars up like 50cent Tacos on Tues night at the bar! I'm not asking for a full revamp, just tighten them up to reflect the quality bods they sit under!

No funky chicken marketing schemes required. The cream will float to the top. The scum will settle to the bottom. With today's info super hi-way, dirtballs and scammers are easily identified and exposed. They can be easily avoided as if they were sitting behind a billboard with a flashing blue light on their roof!

In general slotheads are a wary lot. I don't see the need for additional policing by the Emperor. I'm a grizzled, road worn veteran. I've seen a lot, and forgotten more! There is one undeniable truth. When a supplier undercuts their distributors, straddles the fence, and sells direct; no good will come of it! Often times hierarchies are in place for time tested reasons. Occasionally someone forgets and tries to defy the laws of gravity. It always trickles back downhill.
