It's a bit of a pain in the butt, but if you have a decent iron with a decent tip it's not a big deal. The lead free solder they use makes it more of a hassle. Since you're going to replace the wires anyway I'd recommend putting 12AWG on it. DustinB 05-23-2007, 01:30 PM Thanks where do i get the 12awg wire and do i need to keep the wire same color of wire thanks pmsimkins 05-23-2007, 01:46 PM You can use any color you want. Just make sure you solder the motor wires to the correct tabs. The speedo and and motor are marked, so you should have no trouble. If you have a hobby shop locally they'll have some good quality 12awg I'm sure. If you have anything else you're planning to order Lefthander has some good wire as well. When you use the thicker wire just make sure you leave enough slack in the wires so that you don't bind up the pod movement. NovakTwo 05-23-2007, 02:08 PM If you cannot find wire locally, Novak does offer replacement wires in 14 GA silicone: http://www.shopatron.com/product/product_id=NOV5508/135.0.56.615.0.0.0 Your local hobby shop should be able to help you solder new motor wires. Even if they charge a small fee, it would be much cheaper---and quicker---to have them help you. ta_man 05-24-2007, 12:13 AM If you want 12 Ga silicone wire in three colors like the novak wire, look at this post: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=179182 98Ron 05-29-2007, 08:19 AM We are running 4300, flat ashpalt, foam tires, short to meduim length track. We are getting pulled by 3 to 4 feet at the end of the straights, we can make up some in the turns. My question is what is the perfered setting on the GTB 4 cell, we are using the default setting now? pmsimkins 05-29-2007, 10:17 AM I don't have the 4 cell version, but I assume the default setting is similiar or the same as the default setting on the regular GTB, which is fine. Most people prefer the drag brake turned off. That being said full throttle is full throttle. If you're getting pulled at the end of the straightaway it's not going to make any difference what setting you use. Something is off with either gearing or chassis setup. Matt Nothstein 08-09-2007, 11:34 AM I would rather post on this thread than start a new one being it is concerned w/ the GTB Speedo. Well, I have a 4 cell version and was searching on the novak site for an extension for the receiver wire. I can not find one, (female one side, male other side). I bought mine new and it seems to be about 1" shorter than other ones I have seen. Any suggestions? 98Ron 08-09-2007, 11:48 AM Lefthander has what you need, FUTEXT6, six inch extension for use with the 4 cell gtb.
