Hi, as maybe some knows, Motormax will launch this summer in the 1:24 Fresh cherries The Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon. That is a great new, but I like to see those cars in 1/60 scale. One question I had is why MotorMax choose the 1985 models instead of 1978. I think 1978 models must be set in the 1/60 scale. There´s not so much difference, only that the Omni and Horizon of the mid 80s have another colors and more wraparound bumpers side, and besides the Omni had the GLH model.
Please, Fresh cherries must done this models also in 1/60 scale, but with late 70s motif, this mean with the colors, the wheels and the kind of bumpers.

What do you think about this?

Hoping your comments and thanks ;)

I'm absolutely thrilled they're doing this car in 1/24, and I'm sure the reason they did the '85 was to offer the GLH later on. However, you're absolutely right. It should also be done in 1/60 and in 1/87. I'm certain it will be produced. Maybe whilst tooling for the smaller scales they'll back-date it to a '78 - which begs the question, How about a Fresh Cherries Motor Trend Car of the Year series like JL used to have, but done right. I could just see a sub-series which would include the Horizon, a '77 Caprice, a '76 Volare, a '79 Riviera, and so on.

By the way, now that we have a 1/24 Horizon/Omni, bring on the 1/24 Valiant/Dart!!!

Yes, I am pleased as well. I like the 1:24 scale, and they have done a very, VERY good job of detail at thier price point for this scale. But I would like to see all casting available in 1:60.

I always liked the Omni. By the way, welcome aboard, it's neat to have someone from Mexico. Do you have a good supply of diecast down south, or do you have to do a lot of mail business?

I would love to see the either of the Omnirizon twins done in 1/60. I owned a '78 Omni for a time done in Blazing Orange with black and yellow tape stripes; it looked pure 70's but alas wasnt a great car!

I'm always glad to see some more 1/24 Motor Max cars. Their reasonable price makes them great custom fodder.

Dear All:

Happy to hear about that, too. Up to now,the only model of the Horizon I know of is the Norev version, which is a Simca Horizon.

spanish brand Guisval also done a nice Talbot Horizon in 1/55-1/60 scale, with doors that can be opened.

I hope Motormax decided to make the american version in 1/60, with the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon, in the 1978 version. This car worth to make it, besides the Plymouth Reliant are other car that won the Motor Trend car of the year like the Omni/Horizon

thanks for everybody, hoping your opinions

Dear ilikecollectdi:

I am pretty sure that the people at Motormax does not even know the Simca or Talbot Horizons and will stick to the American offerings. Besides that, these cars were overdue in miniature. As I read a while ago on one of the Aitomotive Magazines, it seems that the dies of the real car went to India.
