AW Can Am Racer ( McLaren ) Looks much better like this . I tried a original Gplus chassis first but could not get it to sit level without rocking . So I tried a Super Magnatraction chassis . Perfect fit and I don't think it could possibily be lower . Almost no chassis shows under the side. Now all Tom has to do is repop the Original AFX super-magnatraction chassis !

Now that looks good. and I have one of those there Super mag throw the rear out of it at speed chassis around here somewhere ( NOt my favorite design.) BUT I must admit the stance looks good.. I did offer a grinder to fix them all lol..

Now that's how it should look. Thanks Piz for sharing the idea and pix. Like Coach, I have a super-mag chassis in one of my boxes. Now to find it. Dave.

Okay maybe I don't know as much about these cars as I thought. Super Mag, was this a later version of the G+ or something all together different? Does anybody have pictures or better yet a super mag chassis for trade. I Have one of these Mac's and want to lower it so I can run it.
Piz, did you have to cut or grind the body or chassis?
Thanks
Andy

Super Mag tracs came out after the original ( and greatest) Gplus chassis from AFX, I think they made it to personally annoy me as I found after a bit of hard running they tend to get soft and throw the rear axle. Not my favorite and one I ussually rant and curse at. lol.. I will try and dig mine out today and post a pic of it If I figure out a way (and I think a conversion tab may work) you can have it. I hate the bloody things also I think Chruis has a giant box full of them for sale (Dragula) contact him if you get tired of wating for me to decide I am old and I am a tad senile.

You had some problems with the Gplus chassis sitting firm?
All I did was add a screw post and the rocking stopped.

Looks great, that's the way they should be done

I have been watching the bay for cheap old school G+. I will PM dragula see what kinda deal he may throw my way. Coach have you had a chance to look at the stuff I sent you? I got a box from you in the mail and opened it up yesterday everything looks great and thanks for the extra M/T chassis. Now I just have to figure out how to post a postive in your trader rating.

Thanks
Andy

Yup got your order package just fine Andy, greatly appreciated each and every car in there as I tend to do.. Ran the two open ones up and got my fix of charged ozone.. I just love the smell of burnt racing oil...lol....

Think I left ya a good feedback here will check if I can recall how to do it myself...

Heres what I did , It was really simple fast and easy. I cut out the body mounts to about twice there original size, and then trimmed some scrap plastic ( from an afx ferrari 512 , but any scrap styrene would work ) and glued it in place to hold the body tightly to the tabs of the chassis. I thought about adding a screw post for the Gplus chassis But I happen to like the super mag chassis ! I wouldn't want to do any serious racing with it , but I like just running with them. ;-)
