Dear Oval Racers and those pondering attending the Paved Oval nationals at Carolina RC,
Due to the prospected lack of entrys in 1/12th scale, ROAR has enforced rule 12.1.9 which states once a class becomes more a regional participation, the class will be deleted from the national status. We regret this class may have seen busier days and we do hope the interest will renew in the future.
With that stated, the ROAR has changed the format and projected race program will now include, for Provisional National Title status only, .09 Pan Car and .12 Pan Car nitro racing. These classes, along with 13.5 BL, 4300 BL and Spec Truck are new projects for ROAR in oval racing and we certainly do hope for increased attendance at the event due to some very forward thinking among the oval committee! ROAR feels this is the national event to attend and is very excited at the prospect of so many new classes and choices for oval racing.
The program will be:
Controlled practice will have separate times for the electric and nitro racers.
Two rounds of qualifying on Friday and Saturday for all classes. The day will start with .12 nitro and end with .09 nitro as these drivers will marshall themselves. Qualifiers will be 4 minutes in length.
Mains will be 300 laps for A main in .12 and 75 for .09. B main will be 50 laps. Subsequent mains will be determined as to length by the Race Director at the track. These classes do not have Bump Ups.
The mains for these nitro classes will run Saturday night after all qualifying is completed. The remaining mains will all run on Sunday.
