Some older Matchbox cars I found at a local collector shop.

Congrats on the new additions to your collection. That's a great spectrum of cars and colors in nice condition. A lot of them are my favorites. Thanks for the post!

In the 2nd pic is the green Mercury Station Wagon. That was my favorite car as a kid. Why? Who knows, but I still have it. Another unique car in the 1st pic is the White Mustang. It has the switch on the side to turn the wheels. Not sure if they ever did that with any other cars.

Lots of good finds there.

The #8 Mustang was the only Matchie with the steering switch. Lesney developed "Auto Steer" after that, a system that relied merely on pressure to turn the front wheels.

That's a Mercury with a blue light ... wasn't it the previous Galaxie that's hard to find with the blue light, or are both of them hard to find?

Both are HTF - lesney intended blue lights for the Firechief issues and red lights for the Police cars (and 13 wrecker). The Mercury came out just before the switch to Superfast so its uncommon in RW but survived as a Superfast casting until recently - in fact the tool may still be useable!
A very nice collection, especially the regular wheels

The top left in the first picture ? I did an ebay search on that and it looks a lot different then the one in the picture.

The blue wagon in the top left of the first pic and top right of the bottom pic is a Citroen CX (DX?) from the late '70s, IIRC..
