Having a race weekend during the fair is a great idea. A good way for the public to take notice to R/Cs.

It sucks to read that all the dates that you have planned for a special event, I can't make it.

I would like to try and make it over later this summer. I have been to your indoor track over the years and always liked what I seen. I'm sure you outdoor track is just as good.

No, we are not associated with them. We are part of the RC Pro series this year, and on July 21st we will be hosting the biggest race in the State of Ohio as part of the series. We will have somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 entries. This is one race you wont want to miss! All are welcome to sign up and race!!!

Two "big" races on the same weekend at two different fairgrounds 45 mins away from each other....too bad the groups involved didn't associate some before hand...turn out will definately be affected...good luck to both.

I agree, however CRCRC has had its race dates set since Jan 31st. This is our 2nd annual Fair race held the same time last year. Too bad that Fastraxx declined to be a part of the State Promotional Series, we needed another track.

The sereis that we are a part of is a State Pro Series race. The "PRO" is for Promational. We are trying to get the hobby reconized to people who dont know that it exsits. CRCRC puts on the largest race in the midwest during the month of January, the 2007 Jan race had over 400 enteries over the span of 5 days. This race went on like clock work. We have hosted this race for over 20 years.

I get the Pro Series....Just got back from the electric finals....And the State Series is a good thing too for getting the exposure the hobby can always use.... Good for all RC is what it is all about... I believe gasoline prices will steer which track has what kind of attendance... Should be a good weekend....

also the crcrc state series is the same weekend as the round 2 regional proseries at MCCoullouhgs in Pa.

Yeah, its starting look like there are too many "big" races for the amount of racers in the industery. This in turn is making attendence low everywhere.

that seems to be from a lack of comunication between track owners

Crimefighters or bowties for both.
Gators for buggy works well also
Bring some switch 2.0 or like tires just in case also

Plenty of communication, just reading a different book.

Keith (bigdog),

We were never invited to be a part of the Ohio series.... You knew that, we discussed it twice on the phone and once in person.
I would have gladly held one of those races especially since I was one of the primary backers of the SCOORS race....

I'll call you to discuss it.

It is a bummer that both races are on the same day. It is VERY bad for the hobby in my opinion and I dont know the logistics of who made what decisions and if someone was or was not left out of the decision making process, but I do know where I will be racin that day :)

Kenny... just remember it is hard for us to get our guys there to help support your club when we are runnin the same day :) Hopefully we can avoid this is the future. We are all in this together... doing things like this is very detrimental to the hobby...

well you know big dog you guys have to know at least 2 years in the future what will happen to make 90% of the people happy :>)

Not much that can be done lets just all have fun racing

Big Dog

On a better note we had our 1st practice run on the track.

Well guys you better bring your big boy shoes for this one!!! It has to be the funnest track I have ever been on in a long time. Every jump can be made with a 1/10. The long jumps can be made with an 1/8 scale. However to make these jumps you have to be wise about them. We are set to go for this weekend. Who in?

I will be bringing my big boy shoes AND pants for this one!

Dog is right it is alot of fun the elevation changes are just insane and this track flows like a 40oz of Colt 45

O.K.
Let me clarify this situation so that every one understands:
The Clark County fair is the largest county fair in Ohio, with a killer outdoor arena, grandstands, better lights than you see on a football field, etc.. The only one bigger is the state fair (this info can be verified on the web). Dave K asked me to see if we could get in there to put on a race last fall. You need to be a local business entity to apply. I originally made this proposition back in Nov of 06. I had no idea that we were even being considered for the race until app. 2 weeks ago. When the Fair board approached us, we went and had a meeting. They gave us the grandstands, the arena, the lights, their dirt, and their clay. All we had to do was provide a bonded track builder, driverstand , timing system and racers, and OEM sponsors. When they told us the date, Dave K and I decided to give the "gate" to CRCRC so they could bring the state series there and not loose club money. We were given a very short deadline and Keith (bigdog) was contacted immediately. We thought what a way to "PRO mote" the hobby. Pull all of the Ohio group together and race in front of 18-2000 people. CRCRC was not able to adjust the race and join us for unknown reasons. We tried to move our race to Sunday, but the arena schedule is already full. We (Dave and I) decided it would be a terrible mistake to "not" hold this race for two reasons. 1) It is next to impossible to get the opening day at CCF. 2) A chance to race in front of 18-20K people is a huge opportunity to grow our sport, even if only 75 racers show up.
That said we are not trying to create a conflict and Dave has done all he can do to try to put these two races together. Unfortunately we had a deadline to get the contract in, and agree to the offer. Dave Kingston and I done all we could do to mesh this issue.

Racers: Please do not take these two events and make them a competition between CRCRC and Fastraxx. The more places there are to race, the more opportunity there is for exposure and growth. Fastraxx is planning to pull racers from out of state to come to the CCF RCSupercross. I already addressed this with Kohan and Bigdog. Wherever you decide to race, enjoy it and help someone else into the hobby.

bigdog, Hand:
All 3 of us have been in contact over the last few days. You are aware of the issues and that we tried to move the dates so there was no conflict. As I stated in my email to you both. I think that the guys running the Ohio series will continue to do so, we will pull our racers for the RC supercoss race from KY,MI,Ill,IN, and a some from Ohio. I wanted to post this so that everyone knows that this issue is cleared up.

Sorry for the book, but a sentence or two would not have cleared up the subject.

Anyone with questions can reach me @ 937-309-4826 (daytime) or 937-206-1565.

Thanks,
Kenny
