I think so. If you want deep, layered storytelling then you go with someone else...but when you want giant space robots duking it out, Bay is the one to do it :thumbsup:

Ah, gotcha. Good choice.

All things being equal, I expect Transformers to be this summer's Independence Day (minus the rich character development and subtle plot twists. ;)

Kidding aside, I enjoyed ID-4 for what it was and, based on what I've seen, Transformers is shaping up to be a similarly entertaining piece of eye candy.

I really liked ID4! Saw Shrek 3 today, kinda ho-hum, like Spidey. I'm guessing Pirates 3 will be a better movie than those 2.

I never had the original Hound. I did get the Alternators (http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-81303-Transformers-Alternators-Wrangler/dp/B0000XO8EG) version a couple of years ago. The Alternator series are, to me, the pinnicle of Transformers design. 1:24 scale REAL LOOKING vehicles and highly posable robot modes.

I have been overwhelmingly underwhelmed with all of Michael Bay's movies. They aspire to be great, but they come off as just being pretentious. I don't expect this one to be any different.

There's a few more I wouldn't mind having, either. Wheeljack & Jazz primarily. The new "protoform" Optimus & Starscream from the movie are out. I got Optimus. Yea, I got this Optimus collection going on. I have about 20 of them- all different versions. :roll:

Making a pretentious Transformers movie would be pretty difficult, why not just blow $#!t up?
