** Racing started a little late due to some late afternoon showers that rolled thru, but when racing started racers were greeted with probably the tackiest race track that we have ever seen at Chico's. Qualifying times in the heats were 2 laps quicker than we have ran all summer.

** Want to personally thank everyone who came out to race and stuck with us thru another rain delay. Was a little bit later than we wanted to run, but I think most would agree the the track surface was worth the wait.

** Dave Loughead gets the long traveler award for this week, making the six hour ride up from PA.

** I appologize for the scoring errors in the Big Block A-Main. I had Ray calling the race for us and he was not aware that it was a regular 5 minute race and not 50 laps. My fault completely for not clearing that up ahead of time. It got a little confusing there at the end, I know a few people, myself included slowed up and Jeff even pulled off assuming the race had finished at 50 laps.

** Sorry for the no laps for the first Big Block A, printer ate the sheet and I never made it back to print a new one. Thanks to Tom Hilts for filling in as tech inspector for the Big Block EDM class, All six cars were teched following the A-Main. One driver failed tech inspection and was moved to last place in the B-Main and will receive no points for the evenings events.

** Sunday August 19th we would like to hold a drivers meeting before racing starts for that evening to discuss a few possible changes to the motor rules in both classes for 2008. races are scheduled to start at 6, so we will hold the meeting at 5:45.

** would like to thank everyone who made the trip even though the weather was a little uncertain.

** After the heat races were complete, there appeared to be rain on the way, so the decision was made to run all A-mains as 50 lappers and combine the C and B Mains for EDM into a 8 car B-Main.

** Empire State Late Models had a real decent field for the first night. hopefully that is a sign of things to come and this class will continue to grow.

** Dustin Malicoat made the long haul up to NY for a little outdoors racing, he was on A-Main qualifying runs in both heats only to DNF. He pulled off a last to first run in the B and had a decent run going in the A-Main until the wind got his car and sent him around right in front of the leaders and lead to yet another DNF.

** Speaking of the wind, we had to deal with a pretty decent breeze all evening, made some of the racing interesting to say the least dealing with the wind pushing the cars around some.

** Chico Taylor had the A-Main win in his hand until around the 35 lap mark when he was caught up in lapped traffic.

** A big conrats to the class track champions for 2007. champion for Pro Trucks is Hoagie Shepard and Big Block EDM goes to Chris Taylor. We will be finalizing the rest of the points and will have them posted early this week. look for an announcement for a banquet date.

** Tom Hilts took the A-Main win in Pro Truck in a borrowed hot rod from Tomahawk after selling his truck and car last week.

** A Dash for Cash was held for the Empire State Late Models with Dan Gotham taking down the win and the $10 payday.

** Speaking of the Late Models, the class seems to be catching on fairly well and the speeds are starting to go up as guys become accustomed to running without the huge "air dam" that is an EDM body.

** Apparantly it was a good night to TQ, as all three A-Mains were won from the pole position.
