Everyone has stated that there were only 50 GM produced from this series.

If GM consists of 2% of the production run.
The production was 5000 (According to Greenlights website:
http://www.greenlighttoys.com/products.html?q=products&page=viewprod&catid=22&scaleid=4&prodid=75

I was told it was 2500 production.

So is this a typo on Greenlights Website and production was 2500?
Was GM production only 1% for this series?

What am I missing?

They did 2500 of each car and there were two colors of each car. So there are 50 Green Machines of each car. Unfortunately because the cars were really only a different color, the Green Machines are identical in appearance. The only difference is the color of the car on the collector card in the package. I only collect Mustangs and couldn't justify trying to get all six Green Machine Mustangs when the only difference was the card. So I have three of them. Hope this helps explain the series.

Then why wouldn't production be stated to be 2500 then. MCG S3 has a stated production of 6000. Does that mean 3000 of each color and 60 GM, or 6000 of each color and 120 GM

MCG 3 is 6000 of each color car . There is one stock & one custom of each car , so the green machines are different too..
