Hi,
I am replacing the breaker (points) cam inside the governor unit on the K532 Kohler engine in my 30 year old JD 400 garden tractor.
The breaker cam looks like a bushing with two slots in the side that engage with weights to advance the spark. The cam has just one lobe for the push rod to the points.
I am assuming there must be a way to tell which position to instal the cam, either with the lobe nearly lining up with the notched tooth on the governor gear or 180 degrees from that.
But which? Please help.
Thanks,
Steve
