I have both a Home Depot and Lowes nearby. Also, a local hardware store that carries Toro. Looking to spend $300, 21" cut, want about 6hp and large rear wheels, no drive needed. Any models to get or stay away from?

I have sold and owned Toro brand lawnmowers for over 30 years and have had excellent luck with them. I don't think Toro has a push model with the large rear wheels, but they do have one that is self propelled it's a 22". If your looking for a plain push model then anything from Frigidaire, Husqvarna or Sears would also be good I would avoid Murray or MTD if I could help it.

My dad has a murray 6.5 HP crafts man 21" cut... it works well... for 6 years... especially cause he never changed the oil =) it has served us well.
