Spring is finally here.

Here's my 300hp vacuum cleaner.

This car began life as a 69 911 T. It was a perrenial Pac NW PCA Autocross champion for many years. Campaigned by it's original owner. I am the third and have had this car since 88.

When I purchased this car , it had been updated to Carrera RS specs. The second owner had thrashed this ole girl pretty bad. My purchase price was $2800.

I repaired her as she was and from 89 to 97 she was more or less a daily driver. In 97 the custom Porsche shop where I was working a second job announced it's closure. Froggy was the last modified 911 to roll out the door.
As pictured she reflects an all steel early RSR clone less the tail spoiler. I had all four factory versions mounted during the build and chose to go tail-less. Why be normal and follow the herd.

The list of add ons, hotrod parts and custom twists would fill a volume or two. When I'm asked, "What year is that?!" I have to say it's a 67 thru 97, but the tub is a 69. LOL.

Being an early lighweight 911, with double the stock horsepower, Froggy will run away and hide from 99 % of what comes along. She handles like a fly on the ceiling.

Mileage is 24 MPG in good tune if you stay on the primary circuit and putt it around like a Volks Bug. Stomp into the mains and she squirts like a wet cat and the mileage drops fast. snicker.

Froggy is retired to the local show circuit these days, and of course the .9 G
trip to the store.

Thanks for looking.
B.

Here's a few more details.

The motor is a 2.7 liter crank and rods, the piston/cylinders are 2.7 Carrera euro spec, The case is a modified 2.2 (tougher than the later 2.7 cases). Boat-tailed mains with the matching cylinder notches, special oil pressure bypass mods and skirt squirters, shuffle pinned main webbs, fully timeserted case with Dillavar head studs. The oil circuit includes a later Carerra ('84) auxillary cooler/thermostat circuit. Full oil capcity is near 20 quarts for the whole system. The motor was proffessionally balanced.

'67 european 'S' cams, ported and polished heads with a slight fly cut to bump the compression. Updated pressure fed hydraulic chain tensioners, Weber IDA 3 barrell down drafts x2 with K&N tall cleaners, all on PMO tall boy manifolds with a high volume - marine grade fuel pump. '67 "S" distributor and solid core wires, Stainless headers and dual outlet sport muffler. MSD 6al CD ignition.

The whole ball-o-wax is coupled to an '82 911 SC gearbox with the correct shift turrett and short shift kit added. Brakes are standard 911 "S" ventilateds and stainless lines all round, full factory sway bars, complete graphite bushing kit, Bilstien sport shocks all round and updated Turbo car tie rods. Wheels are fully polished original Fuchs alloys- 7's and 8's ( thats pronounced "foox"). It probably has the last set of 15" Yokohama Z-rated 60 profile tires known to man- I had to move heaven and earth to get them. Obviuosly Froggy's been dumped about as low as she can go with out being unsafe or stupid about it

At the time all the lemmings were updating to spoilered, flared, rocker boxed and dammed styling. I wanted something unique and combined the old and the new in attempt to remain flashy but understated... if that makes sense?!

Froggy was ripped and bare metal stripped. I welded in steel flairs, modified the rare "S" steel bumper and built my own design rear bumper from a 911T front bumper and the appropriate later Turbo entensions for the wrap around one piece smooth look. The updated rear reflector support structure was welded in. Little touches like antenna delete, and rocker molding deletes, trim deletes are rarely noticed but really add to the smooth look.

This all steel beauty was etch primed then epoxy sealed. Three or four coats of high solids primer then guide coated and blocked between every coat. Four coats of tintable (green) color primer blocked in 320,600,1200, and 1500.
The Glasurit top coat is "Sumatra" green, actually a 914 volks porsche color! The first coat is a 50/50 clear sealer color mix, then three coats of color, a 50/50 color and clear coat, and finally three coats of clear. It was baked and allowed to sit for a month. She was cut in 600, 1200, 1500, and 2000. Then rubbed out. Looks like you could fall right in and go swimming!

The interior is '84 Carerra and '82 SC stuff, leather electric seats, with '82 911 seat belts and retractor system added. The steering wheel is an old friend LOL. It came from a Nissan service truck that one of our crew totalled. I had a hundred thousand miles with that wheel. It was a rare factory option. I scrambled out and unbolted it as the wrecker was hooking up to take it to the beer can factory!

Thats the short list, that comes to mind, after all it's been ten fun years.
My proudest moment was a first in class at Seattle's Greenwood show. Second was a gorgeous Ford GT 40 clone - Third was an XK 140 to die for!

Froggy never fails to shine, and every year I'm hounded by collectors and high end car consignment salesmen. "Will you sell?, How much will it take?, Can you build another one for me?.... "Never" , "Too much", and laughter are my standard answers. After all, she woudnt be one of a kind now would she?

Bill,
Nice looker! Have you done up a slotcar to replicate the 1:1 version? Dave
