View Full Version : Here's one I'd REALLY like to see...
madmanmark 05-03-2007, 09:28 AM I would love to see Motormax do a series of '74 to '76 Dodge Darts and Plymouth Valiants. One basic tool could yield 4 cars:
'74 - '76 Valiant Sedan
'74 - '76 Scamp
'74 - '76 Dart Sedan
'74 - '76 Swinger
Throw different trim levels and appearance options into the mix and we could have still more cars. Of course, they would have to be rendered in 1/24, 1/64, and 1/87 (but particularly in 1/24).
Any thoughts?
rlyoung1 05-03-2007, 10:27 AM I say yes to the 1/24.
Mark Hosaflook 05-03-2007, 10:29 AM I've been thinking, bang for the buck and this type of thing makes sense to me as well but when you see the track record so far, it seems like MM has no problem at all only getting one car out of a casting. Each one so far seems to be very unique cars that do not cross manufacturer divisions or even years.
madmanmark 05-03-2007, 10:38 AM It's really a pity they haven't thought to maximize their investment. It seems to me to be the best way to offset the high cost of zinc and still offer a broad product line. I would imagine a modular tool wouldn't cost that much more than a traditional one. It certainly wouldn't cost any more to paint a car a different color or apply different tampos, so it seems to me there really isn't an argument not to design their tool to maximize the number of subjects.

ilikecolllectdi 05-03-2007, 12:05 PM It will be amazing to see those cars in 1/60-1/64 scale. The only reference to some model already exist of this models was Yatming, with a 1973-76 Dodge Dart sport available in blue and white. Very hard to find, fortunelly I have the blue one
60sMetal 05-03-2007, 05:21 PM Yes! That would fit the mold of the commoner's car!

That IS a rarity.....I stumbled upon one about 25 years ago, by accident (I didn't even know it existed at the time), and I don't remember seeing another one since.
stanmmx 05-03-2007, 11:58 PM Dear All:
Got the blue one;I bought it via Mail order in the early 1980's and it was described as a Valiant. Also do have their other Plymouth in that series, the Volare Coupe (which is decribed as an Aspen, but its grilles says otherwise. It even has a faint model year printed at its rear licence).Never saw the blue one;the Volare shows up npw and then.
I agree with the list above.

I found the blue one at a flea market a few years back. It's pretty scratched up but well worth the 25 cents I paid for it.
