For the 1977 Le Mans 24 Hours, Alpine-Renault entered three works A442s, supported by a fourth private entry, the #16 Bendix car of Arnoux / Pironi. The #9 car of Jabouille / Bell took pole, with the sister #8 of Depailler / Laffite, sharing the front row.

It turned out to be a disaterous for Renault, with all four cars retiring - the win being taken by the #4 Porsche 936/77 of Ickx / Haywood / Barth.

All four models are by Ixo - they are well detailed with all the correct logos & decals - with one glaring exception. The #7 was driven, in the race, by Patrick Tambay & Jean-Pierre Jaussaud. Unfortunately, according to Ixo, it was Tambay & Jabouille - Jabouille of course, was in the #9! Oh well, I think I can live with the mistake.

Renault would gain revenge in 1978 - Jaussaud & Pironi victorious in their A442B

I just love these GTP stlye rides. And you make it fun with the back story. I just wish quality 1:43 was not so darn expensive!

Thanks - I know what you mean about the expense - my credit card is always in pain :)
