View Full Version : What I would like to see from Greenlight

Greenlight has a huge mustang collector base. I would like to them expand this line.

I love the Boss 429/302 and Mach 1 Mustang from the earlier series.

One model that seems to be overlooked is the Boss 428 SCJ. I would love to see this variation offered either in a BJ, or MCG series. It wouldn't require a new casting and would be a much better offering instead of recycling the concept camaro again.

Another Mustang that I love the style of is the Fox body from 87 to 93 with the louvered tail lights. A Saleen, Cobra, or even a 5.0 GT would be awesome.

A 69 Judge GTO is a must.

All great suggestions Kevin ! I'd like to see some '67 or '68 Mustangs or Fastbacks myself.

Although I'd like to see more mustangs, I think the line is pretty heavy on them already and they should do sme other cars before putting out more stangs. The 69 GO judge I agree 100%! that is a must.

Another car that I love, but I doubt they will make would be the 64 Galaxy 50 XL. It dominated in NASCAR in 64, it is beautiful car, and one I own a 1:1 version.

True, but there are those who only collect Mustangs. I know collectors who only buy Mustangs, whether it be from Greenlight or other makers.

Finding a 428 SCJ is difficult because the Mach 1 and 429/302 are more popular castings. Since GL already has the mustang casting produced it would be an easy car to offer, with a low development cost that would be popular, sell well, and once again separate them from the crowd.

I could deal with a few more mustangs as long as they continue making the 71 cuda hardtop as much as possible specially in all black, then triple black, then white with black billboards........ :freak:

They make the corvette collection. I don't see why they don't add a
Mustang collection

and although not that big of a fan personally

Camaro Collection

Someone mentioned on a different post that the would like to see trucks.

Since GL came from a racing heritage I don't see this really as part of their brand image....unless.

They did a NASCAR Truck Series...which I don't know if anyone else does,

Or if they made Classic trucks from the 40's - 70's

They have so many other muscle car castings that I would like to see first however.

No such beast as a Boss 428 SCJ, my friend. It would be fairly simple to make a 428 SCJ though, just add a shaker to the black BJ Mustang. Just as long as the shaker is nice like JL's and not that weird chrome thing GL did on the 70 custom(if that was a shaker, which I am not sure). I would also love to see a 70 Boss 302 with a shaker
A Saleen would be nice, I'll let them use my 88. (hint hint)

Sorry I was thinking Boss when I put it in front of 428.

It would even be a good candidate for the BJ set. I am sure one was sold there.

I wish they would correct their '69 Mustang Sportsroof (fastback) tool, though...the lack of quarter windows (they flip out, not roll down on the 1:1) is annoying..

I'm curious to see if they can do the new 2008 Shelby GT500KR? All it would take would be a new hood on the existing Shelby casting and the addition of foglamps on the lower grille. Otherwise, the rest of the model is the same.

On the subject of Collections ie the Corvette Collection. I could see collections of the different pony cars doing somewhat well. Mustangs, Firebirds, Camaros, et al.

A '59 caddy! Since the cars are exactly in scale with each other, this would be a huge car. I was watching a show last week and they said the 59 is even wider than today's hummer! I knew the car was big, but didn't think it was that big.

A caddy wouldn't really qualify as for "muscle ca' garage, so maybe they can do a landboat series with cadillacs, lincolns, rivieras, bonnevilles, the big t-birds, etc. If they did something like that I'd like to see a Buick Centurion convertible in there ;)

The line can be expanded - possibilities are endless.

The muscle car series = a must to continue

Truck or SUV series = ?

Pimp Series (not polically correct) lincolns, caddys, etc = ?

40s 0r 50s hot rods =

I'd like to see the Mustang notchbacks from 67-69. Also the musclecars everyone seems to be forgetting to do in diecast 1/64 scale:
64 Chevelle (and a nice 66, since the Jl version is bad, and a 69 since only HotWheels did one, and while nice, it is wrong in the rear wheel openings and tail panel)
66 Impala SS (why this one hasn't been done is a real mystery.....)
70 GTO (only Matchbox did this one and it is ill proportioned)
66-67 Catalina 2+2
64-66 442
65 & 68-69 Buick GS ( I love those 68-69's with that sweepspear side trim and boomerang shaped rear end)
66 Wildcat GS (a one year only car and a beautiful body style)
66-70 Galaxie 7-Litre or 500 XL ( again, really beautiful body styles)
68 Torino GT fastback, 69 Torino Cobra fastback and notchback
69-70 Marauder X-100 (my favorite Mercury of all time)
64-69 Comet Cyclone/Montego Cyclone
72 Torino and Montego GT sportsroof (two of the last really beautiful FoMoCo cars)
60-65 Chrysler 300 Letter cars, and the big, burly 70 300H
70-71 Plymouth Sport Fury GT
68 GTX and Roadrunner
72 Challenger and Barracuda
67-69 AMC Rebel SST (OK, it may not have been a real muscle car but it was nice looking..)
71 AMC Hornet SC360

I am sure I am forgetting still others but these have never been done by anyone that I know of in this scale and GL would really do them justice. I think they could take any of the full-sized cars on this list and make a full-sized muscle series. I know I'd buy 'em!

69 Chevelle
69 GT Torino fastback
68-73 Ranchero

Yep, I did forget a few. We do need a nice 70 Cougar as the JL convertible is only so-so. I'd also like to see a few post 72 Musclecars such as the 73 Chevelle SS (including the wagon), 73 Olds 442, 73 Buick Century GS, 74 Ventura GTO and 73-74 Nova SS.

I would also like to see more Mustangs. A 428 SCJ would be awesome. I was really impressed to see GL do the California Special version of the current generation Mustang. I'd really like to see them do an '07 California Special Convertible in VISTA BLUE. Just like this one...
