Mapquest
RnD is located on Northwest corner of the railroad tracks even though most map searches place us south of the railroad tracks that cross Mt. Read Blvd
At the present time you can get to us from Lexington Avenue. The property numbers are confusing so just drive to the top of the hill and you can't miss us.
RnD's current race schedule consists of one day and one night of Carpet Road Course (Sunday/Monday), one Night of Oval (Saturday), and one Night of the local rc club (RCCCMC; Oval - Wednesday)
Race results are posted at: rcpoints.com
Jake S 04-24-2007, 12:28 AM There are plans for an indoor offroad and dirt oval track here in Rochester NY @ RnD Racepark!!
Lew Rhinewald - "The clay track will be INDOORS. It is the best value for the money at this time. It will be off the south end of the current CRC Ozite carpet track. It will be a combination oval/offroad (stadium) venue. This will be a year round track. My thoughts (as of right now) are that the outside dimensions will be 52 ft. by 75 ft.. That will leave room for a 4 ft. walk on one side (this will be on the west wall and include a drivers stand and scoring tower) and the north end. The opposite sides will have a 3 ft. walk on the remaining two walls. I have a sourse for the clay. It is at a construction site yet to be started. Word is the end of April will be the start date for construction. If that does't happen then I will get clay elsewhere. If all goes well I would like to build a much larger outdoor track late in the summer or for next year."
Jake S 04-28-2007, 02:57 AM going to grab some pictures of the building the offroad track will be in when i go race tc on their carpet road course sunday!
trashedmaxx 04-28-2007, 08:47 AM Please keep us posted on the offroad development. Never knew this track existed makes me think that I shouldn't have gotten rid of my on road stuff.
I just want to get it straight there is not an offroad track now right? Will the indoor offroad and carpet track be in different buildings?
Jake S 04-28-2007, 02:28 PM hey trashed, been awhile (i raced at oakhill i had a dark green b4, and the white w/ silver flame xxx4)
there isn't an offroad track right now, but the dirt should be coming in the next few weeks. the building is a pretty big one, and is adjacent to the carpet building. i believe to make it a bigger offroad track, pitting will still be on the carpet track side (separated by a garage door)
on oval nights names like Billy Kimpton, Pete D'agnolo, Brian Zigler all race up here at rnd, so you know its a killer facility. you should definitely get a touring car (6-cell, wont need those stupid 4-cell packs hah) last sunday names like Anthony Anastasia, John Carey, Johnny Carey, and Jason Cramer where up to race on the road course.
knowing lew for the time i have i know he wont put effort into a facility that is any less then the best. being the friendly guy he is he is always open to suggestions, any suggestions posted i will relay to him through the main forums that rnd uses....these two forums are rochesterrc.com and wnyricinfo.com (as you guys know from this past summer at oakhill)
wait a minute 04-30-2007, 04:52 PM will this offroad track be big enough for 1/8th scale trucks and buggies and will nitro be allowed or is it all electric?
Jake S 05-01-2007, 07:32 PM that is not finalized yet, but the building should be big enough for nitro, during the summer i don't see nitro being a problem, since the south wall of the track wont be put in untill the fall.

ashxxxnt 05-01-2007, 11:22 PM are those cement blocks all over the place.
wait a minute 05-02-2007, 04:29 PM so will there be enough ventilation to run the nitro vehicles during the winter or just a summertime thing?
Jake S 05-04-2007, 05:50 PM are those cement blocks all over the place.
Yes they are, but the lanes are wide enough you have to be pretty out of shape to even get close to the blocks, there are plans for a different "wall" setup over the summer.
so will there be enough ventilation to run the nitro vehicles during the winter or just a summertime thing?
i am not 100% sure, but i believe atleast since summer there will be nitro, due to the one wall not being put in untill winter, i believe it depends on the summer turn out on how much money will be put into the offroad program, so when more plans are finalized, and the track gets close, i will post more information, more support this summer means a better racing facility next winter.
Jake S 05-08-2007, 06:31 AM Just a bump, i have no new info at this time.
Jake S 08-01-2007, 03:21 AM Due to the fact im not in rochester now (return end of aug), personally i have no new info, have been trying to talk to the owner, Lew, and see if there are any developments.
Jake S 08-15-2007, 01:58 AM currently it sounds like they are having some complications with the indoor offroad (its not the season for it yet anyway) but plans are being formulated, and will relay info as it comes.
sheveman 08-15-2007, 11:08 AM Hey Jake, had fun running with you in Waterford this summer looking forward to doing it again next year.
hopefully everything gets worked out on this off road track and a few of us can come and check it out this winter.
Dale
Jake S 08-17-2007, 11:21 AM yeah hopefully dale, it was a blast this summer...too bad your brushless couldn't keep up....can't wait to see you guys make it out when they do get this indoor track together....if his offroad track is half as good as their carpet track, offroad will be nothing short of fabulous, and the owner is an old dirt oval racer, so he knows what to do with the clay
in all seriousness, with one of the former owners leaving, the current owner is working on getting the paper work straitened out, but there should be an indoor track by the time "indoor" season is here...
at least for you boys its pretty simple to get up to rochester too....get on i90 in Erie, drive all the way to rochester hah....get on 390....Lexington exit....drive down the road and *BAM* RnD Racepark! so hopefully a bunch of you guys can make it up....i get back to rochester the 27th so ill get over to rnd on a race night and talk to Lew about the offroad program.
Jake S 08-29-2007, 01:51 AM New from Lew:
The big news is that there is a name change. On longer will this track be called RnD Race Park. From now on it is Bandit R/C Race Park. The name switch over is in progress. The fall season is just around the corner. I hope you will be ready to compete at Bandit R/C Race Park.
No updates on offroad :(
Jake S 10-04-2007, 04:59 PM Mondays nights are good and also Sundays with the onroad people. Check out www.banditrcracepark.com for more information. Rubber tires and at this point I'm not sure how many have 13.5 brushless.(
sorry guys indoor dirt doesn't look to be happening, guess glenwood gunna get alittle more business this winter :)
