Here are some more Amrac pics.Notice the interesting variation on the Corvettes. The bk/rd #5 Porsche' 934 (Did you know that the Porsche' 934 was pantographed off a larger scale racing car by Cox ?)is still a stunner to me & I like the #9 wt T-Bird too.Amrac also did the Datsun 240Z .That Can-Am "Sachs" # 9 does not do too much for me though.Amrac also did the "Auto World" # 5 Porsche' 934 with lt/bl & Dk/bl stripes.

The Sachs is the only Amrac body that can't fit a Life-Like or Rokar M or a Life-Like T chassis.
The body is so low that it can fit only the old Amrac chassis type

Makes since.........Amrac bought the dies/molds for the HO slot line of cars from Cox, early chassis are even marked as such.

Cox had some help though........I beleive chassis development assistance came from from Jim Russell. Yes, as in Jim Russell of Russkit (Big scale and controllers)and/or Russell Hobby Crafts (Check your AFX parts blister cards).

PS.
Check out a Galoob, Miami Vice Ferrari or Rolls.........same chassis!

Nice lookers for sure. That white Porsche and Datsun sure sit low to the track. Wouldn't mind having a set of those myself.  rr

Is that Can Am car the same as this one? You can actually see the "Cox" decal on the side of this one... the one side that's left, anyway. Too bad it's so trashed...

those Dardas are pretty wild. I have a bunch of those Thunderbirds in different LifeLike paint schemes; I had no idea they went back so far and were sold as so many different brands...

Johnny, concerning the chassis development of Cox I would not be sure of the help of Jim Russell. The development was done by Philippe de Lespinay as far as I know, I never heard Jims name in that stage, later of course: I would bet that when Cox eventually turned to Amrac, that Jim was on board. Amrac was the company of his old friend Jim Kirby, and when everything became Rokar, Jim Russell himself was the man behind this company, and he also developped the MCar chassis then, before selling everything off to Lifelike.
