Ever since i got my Traxxas Stampede xl5 2 weeks ago i have been wondering what would be the best oil to use for it. my stampede is all stock

What are you planing to do with it?

Race?

Bash?

Let it sit and look pretty?

The oil weight depends on the track, shock piston, springs, and other stuff.. post some more info on your plans with the track..

I plan on just bashing around and jumpin not racing

I would build the shocks just as the instructions state. Most off road trucks come with 30wt oil or something close.
After you run it for a while you may decide to change just to see what difference it makes. If you start going for some really huge jumps, you'll want to go heavier with the oil and springs.
