View Full Version : Jericho
Jim NCC1701A 04-15-2007, 06:50 AM To be honest, not the sort of program I expected to see come out of the US given the subject matter.
A pragmatic series, kind of like the old English series Survivors or an expanded The Day After - which was also set in Kansas, ironically.
Sure hope they get the go for a second season.
The only type of subject matter that comes out of America on TV that should surprise anyone, is a subject matter that doesn't make money. That's what we are about. Hence, all the ED commercials you see every 10 seconds.Puritans.
PhilipMarlowe 04-15-2007, 02:13 PM I watched the first couple of episodes because the premise sounded interesting, but I thought it was a little too Apocalypse 90120.

Erect*** dysfunction, ya , know, Cialis and their lot. I used to think it was to alleviate soreness from throwing a football....
SteveR 04-15-2007, 03:36 PM Oh, that. Another thing I wish I'd invented. ;)

It's gotten much better, IMNSHO. I was feeling the same way for a while, but realized it was the first season and they need to establish certain events and character backgrounds, first. They've smoothed it out a LOT over the last four or five episodes and I'm really diggin' it now. Hope it gets a second season! :)

Or maybe both. That way you could control the market a bit better.
aurora fan 04-15-2007, 07:11 PM There is a place. a middle palce. between soap opera and sci-fi. A place we all argue about. Where is the beginong? Where is the end? What defines the middle?
"BSG" causes me problems. But I stick anyway. Hoping for the best. I gave up on "Lost" It dragged too long. I understand they're making changes. "Smallville" whips me. I watch anyway.
"Jerihco" let me down after 3 episodes. I never went back. I hope its a good show. I don't know. So many great ideas. So many disapoinments!
Griffworks 04-15-2007, 10:30 PM They're really improved the show. Not sure if it was because of the initial ratings drop or not, but the writing has gotten much better. They're also addressing some hard issues now, such as survival in their current environment. Good stories and we're seeing some positive character growth, as well.

You get those ads too? Sure hope the ones you have are better than ours. Doesn't sound like though...

Good save there :)
spencer1984 04-16-2007, 09:54 AM I've enjoyed the show since the beginning, but I agree that it took it a few episodes to really find itself. The first couple were a little clunky here & there, but the writing has gotten progressively better as the series has gone on.
seaQuest 04-26-2007, 04:56 PM The show's "on the fence." The ratings took a hit after the show went on hiatus at Christmastime, and returned two months later; but, some of the audience didn't.
One advertising exec couldn't understand how anybody could watch a show that had such a "gruesome" premise.
Griffworks 04-26-2007, 06:52 PM Shame some folks haven't tuned back in. It's gotten a LOT better. Last nights episode, IMNSHO, was great.
