Dave D jbrooks39 04-11-2007, 01:06 PM Does any one know of who makes a good velocity stack for our carbs? Dave D Dave- FWIW, no velocity stacks allowed at MPR. We are running Sportsman rules; have to run the QSAC legal adaptor cup. JB dangerousdave 04-11-2007, 04:00 PM That Sucks!!!... I need all the help I can get to keep up with Butch S and Team Ellement from what I have been told. Dave D jbrooks39 04-11-2007, 06:30 PM That Sucks!!!... I need all the help I can get to keep up with Butch S and Team Ellement from what I have been told. Dave D Get it through the corner; that is absolutely the key. Butch S. was running a black cap most of last year; just was able to keep up momentum through the corners to run up front. JB aracefan3 04-11-2007, 10:50 PM go to Davesmotors.com they have motors, carbs and accesories. He also sells a cool LED light to wire around the chassis for the night time racing. renracer 04-12-2007, 12:04 PM Joe is right the whole secret to speed is through the coners you have 4 coners and 2 strightaways dangerousdave 04-12-2007, 02:47 PM I get the drift of the whole cornor speed thing from racing 1/4 scales from years past, guys that we raced against will remember that on certian days at the track(MPR) that I was able to flat foot the track(something that was not done at that time). Everyone is fast going straight!!!... Dave D jbrooks39 04-12-2007, 06:02 PM Everyone is fast going straight!!!... But now, corner speed is INSANELY critical at MPR. Speed used to be able to help a guy that maybe lacked a bit in the corners, but now, with the restrictor plates, it is ALL about corner speed. Looking forward to seeing you, Double D. JB ghilber 04-12-2007, 06:09 PM Dave - you need to get yourself a black cap motor! dangerousdave 04-13-2007, 09:22 AM Is the black cap motor still fast? Is that what Team E is running now? I need to get a motor and want to get one that has the potential to keep up with all the big dogs at MPR. From what I have been told the black cap is the way to go, the red caps just don't last and get lazy. Dave D Sprint 77 04-13-2007, 12:56 PM I think the general discussion here says what I have been thinking. More motor is not the key it is set-up. This due to the fact that we have not had tire rule changes in so long that now the new QSAC legal motors produce more power than we have traction at most tracks. It seems to be the case as I seen at Ft Worth in sprint class. When we are REAL fast we can cook both right side tires in two races maybe 1. I think the tire technology is there just the tire manufactures are bound by the rules to not make a higher bite tire. jbrooks39 04-13-2007, 06:39 PM Dave - you need to get yourself a black cap motor! If Greg says so, it has to be true!!! He was as fast as Butch S. every week with a red cap and won his fair share of races. I personally think that the red cap seemed to have more "snap" and the black cap seemed to stay spooled-up longer. Better go out and get a black cap, Dave. It's your only hope. JB ghilber 04-14-2007, 08:33 AM Joe, you think we should tell him about the new green cap motor that just came out??????????? jbrooks39 04-14-2007, 09:26 AM Joe, you think we should tell him about the new green cap motor that just came out??????????? NO!!! I mean, what green motor, Greg? I don't know ANYTHING about a green motor. Probably see you at the track today at some point, Greg. Got a lot of work to complete to get my sprinter ready. Joe dangerousdave 04-14-2007, 01:44 PM Now I am really confussed!!!... What motor am I to get!!!... Dave D dangerousdave 04-16-2007, 12:52 PM I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find this new motor, Who has them and how much are they? Dave D jbrooks39 04-16-2007, 01:13 PM Just buy a red cap. The green caps are insanely hard to find. Joe dangerousdave 04-16-2007, 02:40 PM I thought Team E said a black cap was the one to get or this new green cap. I want the best!!!... Dave D DMP_SMOKE 04-16-2007, 02:56 PM Then maybe you should call Butch S. and offer him about $300 for his motor :freak: dangerousdave 04-16-2007, 06:03 PM Is it new or used? Dave D ghilber 04-16-2007, 06:42 PM dave - just buy the fastest motor you can get. its all about strait line speed. turns are overrated. and remember, its all won on the first lap. dangerousdave 04-16-2007, 07:13 PM Now you guys are really confussing me, One said it's all about getting around the cornors and now it's all about going fast in a straight line. I guess I will just need to work on both to keep up!!!... Dave D DMP_SMOKE 04-16-2007, 08:53 PM just remember dave there is still a right hand turn to come in the race so make sure you set the chassis up for that to  dangerousdave 04-17-2007, 09:57 AM I guess when I get my stuff ready we will just come on down and strat getting a lesson in fast from Butch and Tean E. I have been working hard to get our new car ready for the challange of MPR and am getting close to making the trip to give it a test run. As soon as it gets above 50 degrees all day on a Saturday we should be ready to go. Mike is looking forward to racing 1/4 scale. Dave D LetsRace 04-17-2007, 10:30 AM would the "green" motor be a 4 stroke? IN2RACIN 04-17-2007, 11:18 AM I want a pink cap. :-) Slider 04-17-2007, 03:43 PM My wife supports the Purple Cap motor. Come-on Purple. dangerousdave 04-17-2007, 04:02 PM I am partial to a blue cap!!!.... Dave D IHAUL 04-17-2007, 06:40 PM just remember lite colors is less weight so get the pink cap motor. less weight is more speed. dangerousdave 04-18-2007, 08:57 AM I am starting to think all you guys are yanking my chain with all of these different motors and advice. Dave D rybred33 04-18-2007, 09:33 AM I am starting to think all you guys are yanking my chain with all of these different motors and advice. Dave DReally?????? Well now your thinking right.
