Tranny Car Man. 09-04-2008, 04:23 PM what is the difference in the average and average v1v on a turbo 35gfx? CClay1282,you have a PM. popsss 09-04-2008, 04:45 PM looking at turbo 30 from front power supply on left also dischargeing at 15 amp gives you a more accurate run time CClay1282 09-06-2008, 06:44 PM what is the difference in the average voltage and average v1v on a turbo 35gfx? Well, does anyone have an answer? Racin'Jason 8 09-14-2008, 05:50 PM Average voltage is just that...all the way to the cutoff that you have set. Most people use .90V per cell (3.60V as a pack). Average Voltage @ 1V is just that...the average voltage until the pack reaches 1V per cell (4.00V as a pack) If you cut your packs off at 1V like I do it reports the same number for both. Hope this clarifies  Butters16 09-15-2008, 12:30 PM What kind of life span do you get from your spec packs (4-cell) version ?? Tranny Car Man. 09-15-2008, 01:18 PM What kind of life span do you get from your spec packs (4-cell) version ?? Im happy with my Trinity 1600s as far as durabilty, mine have been used thru the winter season past and the summer point series we had at our track. Not thrilled with the performance of them as far as voltage and discharge time go's.I peak charge at high amps and discharge at 15 amps.I'v flex cycled them on my Turbo 35 and just get so so #s from them.:confused:Guess Im expecting too much!!!!!!!! RCRacer00 09-23-2008, 03:40 PM What kind of life span do you get from your spec packs (4-cell) version ?? it's really the luck of the draw with these spec packs Some are GREAT out of the box some should be put back in the box. I would say one season of weekly racing is about max for these packs. then it's time to use them as practice packs and buy new race packs. EricL 10-26-2008, 09:23 AM Here are the numbers of my top 3 packs from the 07 nats. 6.0 charge, 15amp discharge. 4CELL SPEC 1600 MAH PACKS (Deans) NAME - TIME - IR - PKV@1v - DCHT - 15 - 30 - 60 -120 - 240 1A - 1670 - 30.3 - 7.56 - 510 - 5.09 - 4.93 - 4.73 - 4.57 - 4.50 5C - 1488 - 33.3 - 7.45 - 519 - 5.03 - 4.86 - 4.72 - 4.63 - 4.49 6A - 1470 - 29.6 - 7.54 - 467 - 5.01 - 4.90 - 4.73 - 4.60 - 4.48 All of my other packs are just a hair off of these but these are the ones that I know run on the track. EricL 11-03-2008, 06:50 AM Eric, things arnt booming in New England in the RC world either.Hey,lets not get off topic,LOL,we gotta work togeather to get our Spec packs with real good numbers.Explain the reason for using a lower flex number than im useing. When I first got my chargers... I had Joe Rutherford help me set them up ...with the help of a few other guys of course...But when we set them up, He told me that for best results to flex at level 5 or 6....no need to go higher... That its purpose is to break up the crystals (air.rir) in the battery and to help insure better battery amps. I have moved 'em up to level 7 flex but was a little afraid to push em to 9 as I am not ready to loose a battery yet. However, charging them this way has given me great results... with my set up problems finalized...I pulled my self out of the B mains in to the A mains. With longer run times and faster laps (closer if not better than track records). Set up is key first....then motor, then battery care! If you have all 3 consistant, you are sure to be a A main winner! Eric L disclaimer: Not responsible for my opinion or findings in testing! CClay1282 11-05-2008, 09:56 PM So, do i use the turboflex on my turbo 35? or should i use my ice to try to revive old cells? What should i do with some packs that are less desireable? BoneSpec 11-06-2008, 06:32 AM I found the issues with my three dead packs, the welded tabs melted thru the heatshrink shorting them out. I also found a MAJOR difference between batches of spec packs in their construction. Welded tabs for the leads to the ESC or direct solder to the cells? My three best packs, which was the last I got from Denise, all had the wires directly soldered to the cells, not to the welded tabs.........two of my failed packs of the early design, the welded tabs for the leads to the ECU melted thru the heat shrink and shorted out the cells. EricL 11-07-2008, 03:12 AM So, do i use the turboflex on my turbo 35? or should i use my ice to try to revive old cells? What should i do with some packs that are less desireable? After conversing with Competition Electronics based in Rockford Ill. They referred me to my owners manual for recommendations to flexing ONLY NI CD BATTERIES. Here is what my Turbo 35BL manual says: ( eh em) "The TURBO35 employs our own version of reflex charging called TurboFLEX. TurboFLex charging can recondition cells by lowering the internal resistance thru breaking up of the crystalline structure formed by aging cells, It can also reduce heat buildup during chraging by reducing gas build up in the cells. Before charging you may select one of 9 intensities for each of the three peaks in the default menu. Also TurboFlex may be turned on or off for each of the three peaks. Intesiity 1 is the lowest and 9 is the highest. We recommend intesity 6 for RC-1700/2000...." Now, in my GFX manual every thing is the same except it added this: "... It is intended for use with NiCd cells only" and "...intesity 6 for RC-2000/2400." Now with that being said, I have used a higher setting for my spec packs...case in point-- Intensity 7 for one of the Red cell packs. I am kind of uncertain that the results did anything better. Hope this helps everyone!
