BoneSpec 04-04-2008, 01:50 PM I'm using a 9 button unit, used my second (new to me) one last night
IR's were 247, 244, 236 but I'm measuring voltage from the CHARGER side of the deans plugs. I did cycle my GP3300's with deans connectors (practice packs) but with the voltage leads on the battery, came up with 71 and 69 IR.

Flexcharged my best pack tonight on 9 T30TF and finished second. Maybe I'll try normal charging next week?
Eastcider 04-06-2008, 08:17 AM o did i mention that some how my 2 leads from the charger some how where touching :( they must moved a hair the sec i got up from the table ... im so bummed .,..
biggin69 04-06-2008, 10:23 AM Does anyone charge with an Ice? I am charging the new Spec 4 cell 1600 Trinity packs. Currently, I charge at 5 amps. After a race, I discharge at 10 amps and then bring them down with a 6 light bulb set-up until they are dead. I need to know what to set the peak sensitivity, disch. voltage, and trickle current.
BoneSpec 04-06-2008, 12:40 PM Talk with the Mullins crew, but I believe they used them before.
Tranny Car Man. 04-06-2008, 04:36 PM I have a fellow racer that charges with an ICE charger and does very well,i dont know his procedure thow.
Tranny Car Man. 04-06-2008, 04:38 PM o did i mention that some how my 2 leads from the charger some how where touching :( they must moved a hair the sec i got up from the table ... im so bummed .,.. How bout your Turbo 35,that melted down too???????
Eastcider 04-06-2008, 06:12 PM nah t he 35 is running mint still im so lucky lol but the end of the pack is melted an the connector split so it might be able to be salvaged for a practice pack :) have to rip it apart an fix it an see ... lol
reggie's dad 04-06-2008, 06:41 PM Does anyone charge with an Ice? I am charging the new Spec 4 cell 1600 Trinity packs. Currently, I charge at 5 amps. After a race, I discharge at 10 amps and then bring them down with a 6 light bulb set-up until they are dead. I need to know what to set the peak sensitivity, disch. voltage, and trickle current.currently charging with a TC 1030, same as an ice using the 4 step charge at 2.5 amps to 500 mah with flex for the first step, 7 amps to 1300 mah linear for step two, 6 amps to 1600 mah and 5.5 amps to 1900 mah's, been discharging at 10 and seem to be losing ir and gaining power. :dude:
Eastcider 04-06-2008, 09:20 PM those the 07 cells ? o an i found some cells that say 06 ;) cant miss the 06 on em they are rather large
BoneSpec 04-06-2008, 09:23 PM all have seven packs now, all have ('06) where I mentioned earlier.
BoneSpec 04-09-2008, 05:19 AM What a night...........
04-09-2008 1am start.
Sorry if the numbers get askewed, I typed it out in wordpad first, then pasted it here.
A/B/C are new to me packs I won in an Ebay auction, still have the Tamiya connectors on them
Packs 1/2/3 are packs I purchased at local hobby shop I race at. Pack #1 is not included. It was always weak and is now sleeping in the Legends car. We run a 6.0 second breakout class, good batts not needed. Pack #4 was purchased off ebay from DenisesRCOutlet. It was listed using a pic of a "yellow" cell pack, but was standard '06 red cells. It is my best pack right now. Pack #3 has died. One cell is DOA. At 6 amps charging the pack voltage shot up to OVER 10v before I shut the charger off. This is the same pack I used last week in the 1st Qualifier.
CE TurboFlex 30
Long lockout - Yes
Tflex -No
Charge at 6.0 amps, -.03v peak, then wait 50 seconds, change over to discharge @ 20 amps to 3.0v
I then take voltage readings at 60/120/180/240, also time at 3.6v and 3.0v when discharge is stopped.
Pack C I simply forgot to check voltages as I was surfing :)
Pack.............A..........B..........C.......... 4..........2......
060.............4.39......4.29.......XXX......4.40 ......4.23
120.............4.24......4.08.......XXX......4.27 ......3.99
180.............4.05......3.92.......XXX......4.19 ......3.76
240.............XXX.......XXX........XXX......4.04 .......XXX
3.6v.............236.......238.......232.......293 .......196
3.0v.............293.......274.......257.......305 .......223
Avg V..........4.07......4.03......4.17......4.22..... .4.04
Mah............1627.....1522.....1427.....1694.... ..1238
If Pack A comes around, I'll be OK. But six weeks left in a points series and I don't wanna be worried about packs dying off. Pack #3 has a dead cell, 6 amp charging and voltage was over 12v within 60 seconds.

I use an ICE. I charge and repeak at 7 amps , p.s. set at .05. I boost them on a INDI torpedo about ten minutes before I race. Discharge at twenty with lights with a little cut-off box. My 1600 spec packs are 5 years old and they still kick. Most of my packs charge up to 1800-1900+.And I have 4 that charge up to 2000+.
BoneSpec 04-17-2008, 06:19 AM I just ordered three more packs off ebay from a seller I'd dealt with before. My #4 pack came from them, best pack I have right now.
Look at the volatge @ 180 seconds and you'll see what I mean!!!!!!
$44 shipped for three packs, of $70 for a Indy Torpedo.........which I'll likely end up buying anyways!
Eastcider 04-18-2008, 07:08 PM bone whats the ir of that pack is it high ?
BoneSpec 04-19-2008, 12:42 AM on a Turboflex 30, 180-200, but with the deans connectors its not a true number.
Tranny Car Man. 04-19-2008, 04:20 PM Cider, what conectors are you useing???????.And what are you getting for IRs with your T35 BL???
Tranny Car Man. 04-19-2008, 07:58 PM on a Turboflex 30, 180-200, but with the deans connectors its not a true number.
Scrap those things and use Dura Trax Power Pole conectors, proven to be much better.:woohoo:
Eastcider 04-19-2008, 09:20 PM im still using Deans hhmm i might have to switch but i got a hella steal on these deans t plugs

Tranny Car Man. 04-20-2008, 07:45 PM Not bad altogeather Rob,you have some good packs on my judgement, pick the top four and use the others for practice.Id like to have a bunch of the # 11s,nice voltage, low IR, and plenty of run time.I cant figure this game out,I was like a missle in practice yesterday, and like a half burnt sparkler taday????????????? LOL.
Eastcider 04-20-2008, 09:24 PM same motor?
good thing i have extra packs i have to fund a friends a few packs this coming weekend race
Tranny Car Man. 04-20-2008, 10:45 PM Long story with motors, proberly my fault with motor, too high an amp draw.(tinkerinn it!!!!)
BoneSpec 05-03-2008, 02:43 AM Scrap those things and use Dura Trax Power Pole conectors, proven to be much better.:woohoo:
Sorry, before I would use Duratrax, I would use the ORIGINAL AMP connectors. I still have the original test from RC Car Action from 1990 :)
Also my IR numbers are 254-283 on my TFlex 30
BoneSpec 05-28-2008, 04:42 AM OK, I now have a Trinity Dyna-Pulse and Spintec V2.0 to help manage the batterys, I'm likely it so far. I'll see about bring a few packs back from the dead soon.
popsss 06-04-2008, 08:01 PM ok guys there a guy on ebay selling spec packs at 11.00 dont buy from him he buys in bulk cycles them and sells off the junk.
i cycle middle of week charge at 6amps discharge at 15amps to 3.60 best packs have runtime of 420-450 discharge avg. of 4.44- 4.49
