View Full Version : Vt. State Champions race @St.Johnsbury Vt. PANCAR17R 04-08-2007, 05:21 PM Just wanted to get a thread started to find out who is coming and what class everyone will be running. PACE 04-08-2007, 09:35 PM i will be there...and i whish to run 19t pro....and 19t spec Pace PUF19 04-09-2007, 10:06 AM There is only one 19T class and that is komodo dragon fixed 24* this is going to be a greeat race!!! NEOT people will start showing sat morning. RTOURANGEAU 04-09-2007, 02:13 PM St Johnsbury has a adjustable timing 19turn class called 19turn pro and a fixed 19turn class callled stock pan. NEOT people will have to run komodo dragons in the stock pan class or run a class of there own. See everyone Sunday Bob T rickster58 04-09-2007, 02:55 PM I'll be there Sunday SK pro stock. Rick<>< oldtimer 04-09-2007, 05:00 PM Pan car stock and s/k stock booth pro classes Team Beefy will be there sat mourn Tj Towne 04-09-2007, 07:27 PM it would be best when you register to say 19t adj, 19t fixed or 27t because the names of the class are going to get confused! what st j calls "stock" = 19t fixed. Tj Towne 04-09-2007, 08:08 PM i will try to clear this up the best i can. the sk class is the only differant set of rules and they have been told to setup there stuff to neot rules. the other classes have the same rules as neot the names are just differant. as as far as i know the guys that have been running adj 19t are going to run 19t fixed which is normally has an a ,b and c heat so that should be big class. what neot calls stock (27t) the toy box calls sportsman so just look at registration form closely or write 19t or 27t on it. Tj Towne 04-09-2007, 08:16 PM everyone will be running for vt state trophies. neot wont be seperated. rickster58 04-09-2007, 08:52 PM I'm still confused. Ken did I understand correctly that they will be running 3 shock setups on SK's? Someone please post a link to the actual rules that will be used saturday to govern the SK pro stock class. Nick if your reading this, help us out bro. omnis85 04-09-2007, 08:58 PM No he said the cars that normaly run there where told to change there cars to the NEOT tour rules. SO NO they will NOT BE ANY SHOCKS in the cars. only 1 dampner tube and one SPEC center shock. Thats what I gather out of the post. jonnycash 04-09-2007, 09:05 PM No he said the cars that normaly run there where told to change there cars to the NEOT tour rules. SO NO they will NOT BE ANY SHOCKS in the cars. only 1 dampner tube and one SPEC center shock. Thats what I gather out of the post. So, I can run 3 shocks on my solid car, as long as it has a 19 turn motor right? Just Kidding... I know nick will be using SKOR rules for the S/K class, he has stated that many times. We should be all set. Tj Towne 04-09-2007, 09:28 PM call ray at the toybox tomorrow. 802-748-1030 i heard him say sk will be neot rules PUF19 04-10-2007, 06:29 AM I talked to Ray, this week end is NEOT rules for all classes SKOR for SK. rickster58 04-10-2007, 07:49 AM Thanks Nick, That says it all bro. PUF19 04-10-2007, 11:19 AM Hotel Info; Holiday Motel - 802-748-8192 .58 Miles from track, tell them your are with the NEOT for a discount with out it it will be $81.75 room with 2 queen size beds PACE 04-10-2007, 07:12 PM hey guy...saturday night after the pratice and after the pizzhut its party time at the Dawg House!! can't wait for some cold beers!!!! Tom jeeper 04-16-2007, 11:10 AM to the folks that run r/c toybox, Thank you good racing, food, well run and a good time had by all. Your hard work is appreciated by all. I will definately be back. Ray Beland PUF19 04-16-2007, 11:47 AM The results on the web site are NOT 100% CORRECT, I will have the final results up later today. There were a lot of DQ's for motors that were not legal. I would like to thank Ray and all the people from the RC Toybox for a fantastic event!! 92 drivers, was a great showing, even thou the weather was not in our favor. If you have not been to this track, you are really mising a great track, this may be the best size track I have ever run on!!! plenty of pits, shope was stocked to the rafters, the people were as nice as they come, really the nicest event/ most fun the NEOT has seen to date! we will be back MANY more times even thou it was a 4 hour drive from us~~~ This track needs to be commended for the attention to new racers, many young people having fun and racing good. many enrty level classes, this is the way to keep the hobby going, way to go Toybox!!! NHOvalRacer 04-16-2007, 01:08 PM Was wasnt legal about them? I am curious. omnis85 04-16-2007, 03:39 PM herd they were advanced timing FoamDonut 04-16-2007, 04:05 PM It should be posted who and what is wrong. So other tracks can look for the same infractions PUF19 04-16-2007, 04:48 PM This was the problem in a nut shell so to speak; Racin'Jason 8 04-16-2007, 05:27 PM The Toybox had a timing jig? FoamDonut 04-16-2007, 05:37 PM Looks like Nick used a steel ruler to do the tech NHOvalRacer 04-16-2007, 06:05 PM I believe that NEOT should purchase a jig Like the one Maximus sells. All Aluminum, fairly inexpensive. ($129.00) I think, so it wont be "you cheated he cheated she cheated" Heath says it well, "I am not saying your motor is illegal but for this race you cannot run it for points". From the factory they are off by a few degrees, I have sat down with alot of racers and looked at their arms, and mine and I see a difference between every arm. Every arm is different, and I believe if ToyBox had a jig or for this matter NEOT had a jig it would have been more accurate than a steel ruler. Nick is the Ceo, President, and the first lady of NEOT LOL just kidding on the first lady but it sounded good- IMO there should be someone there that is the offical Tech that isnt racing, nor part of any organization that is @ the event. I believe The Captain himself tech'd @ K&N's race, that was a good idea. Is it true that the whole A-Main SK was dq'd??? Again not trying to cause any trouble, just my opinion. PUF19 04-16-2007, 06:14 PM I already looked into getting the same jig as maximus, that is the plan for the next event! Tommygun43 04-16-2007, 06:24 PM ..... Bill Johnson 04-16-2007, 06:31 PM Kinda funny that happened up there in Vt. I looked at an arm Identical to the one all the way to the right on the diagram at Maximus yesterday...... Never got the skinny on it, did it come like that from Trinity...I'm assuming it did since there's a bunch out there.... PUF19 04-16-2007, 07:13 PM the pic is from the motor tech sheet from ARCOR. Racin'Jason 8 04-16-2007, 07:37 PM Something I don't understand...even if Trinity has too large of a manufacturing tolerance resulting in the delivery of "cranked" arms, how much of an advantage does this offer if some of us are taking 0.010" and sometimes 0.015" off the LEADING edge of the brush and still going fast? In terms of degrees, how far were they advanced? Why doesn't the comm. lock break if they are advanced that far unless they were manufactured that way? Has Trinity been questioned on this? I just can't believe that there were that many cheaters at one track at the same time. Tommygun43 04-16-2007, 08:03 PM FoamDonut to answer your question, I think nearly every motor checked had a visually advanced arm, and I think there were 10+ motors checked. I think a gauge may show a different story. I find it difficult to believe the only 4 arms I have are out of spec. I had to search/borrow for a armature that was in spec for the main, and it was the fastest my car was all day. Oh, thanks to the owner (Ray) and his crew, and to Nick. Awsome day of racing. Ray really caters to the out of towners. Congrats to 12 year old Jesse for qualifying 2nd in 19 turn. It was by far the most interesting day of R/C racing I have ever had that's for sure. FoamDonut 04-16-2007, 08:46 PM What I have noticed Tommy when I have checked arms here at my home track by eye. Of the three stacks most arms have 2 that line up and 1 is slightly off. I have found very few where all 3 stack lines are inline with the comm slots. Tommygun43 04-16-2007, 08:53 PM That was something that was mentioned. It was probably the reason why, when I gave nick my last two arms....to find one within spec for the main, he said one was good, one was cranked, then I honestly forgot which one was which and he looked at them again and neither one was good! LOL. I commend Nick for trying enforce some tech though, it's good to see. Then again I don't feel I have ever been beat by someone cheating. Todd Putnam 04-16-2007, 08:55 PM What happened at the Toybox? I hope Paul Mulrain didn't come out of retirement and get caught again! jeeper 04-16-2007, 09:16 PM I was in the SK race 2nd place. I was using a Trinity monster. There was also a EA motor dq, and a couple of PUTNAMS I believe they were monsters c027 etc. I purchased a putnam c027 friday night for another racer he never did anything to it except put it in his car. Guess what it was illegal. I went home and looked over my 5 or 6 motors that I own and none are legal. If I had been told they were going to check the motors this way before the race I would have left, there are no legal motors out there. I also purchased a putnam green motor at rc toybox guess what NFG. I do not even clean my motors!! How can anyone say we were illegal when I cannot purchase a legal motor. And lets not single out Trinity, all brands were represented here. I was told when I left that they were going to let the race stand as is. Since everyone was illegal what other choice is there. Maybe pressure should be put on the motor suppliers for putting out illegal products. I was going to race the neot series this year, but I am having second thoughts I am not going to buy 30 motors to find a legal one. Trinity and Putnam if you are listening feel free to send me a few legal motors anytime. I am sorry I don't have my illegal one I believe it jumped out of the car on the way home. I still love neot, Nick and the rest of the guys, but this to crazy for me. Ray Beland Bill Johnson 04-16-2007, 09:41 PM Just so you know, and don't get it twisted, Putnam, EA, RIP, etc DOES NOT manufacture the stock motors motors in any way. They are OEM'd through trinity as a can, armature and endbell....They are zapped, armature cut, bushings checked and polished assembled with the Brush and spring of choice (EA,Putnam etc), dyno'd then packaged, they have nothing to do with winding stock armatures or the manufacturing process from scratch.... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
