Hi boys and girls!

Its summer, and its about time Freddie’s got off their duff and built a dirt off-road track. This year we will be bring you a 400-foot run line paved asphalt oval and right next to it, a 100 X 150 off road or bigger.

We will be constructing both tracks in the next two months with the hope of opening them by mid to late May. The off-road track will be a technical course. We have all the accommodations right here. A Full line hobby shop on site, restrooms, electric, AMB scoring system, able to read personals. The list is endless. Freddie’s will be the place to race this year. Get ready to enjoy the summer. See why we are the #1 place to race.

As of right now I am thinking of running Saturday. We would run the asphalt oval and the dirt together. All subject to change depending on the turnouts. Baby steps Grasshopper

Like I mentioned before its all going to be determined by the turn out. More than likely we may have to go to a saturday night or Sundays. I feel we will be getting close to 80-90 registrations a week showing up.

North Eastern Ohio needs a quality offroad track that races on Sundays.

Medina Races on Saturday, There would be a large group that would be available to race both days.

Well without sounding mean, I am really not worried about which track races on which day. I need to do what is best for my track and investment.

Because we will be racing the 1/4 scale track on Saturday's I wanted to run both tracks together. but what may happen is the 1/4 scale track from noon until 3ish and then the off road track from 4ish until we are done. This will enable people to travel a little bit away to get home and not have to worry about going to work the next day.

That makes sense. However, what I and others, on this forum at least, are trying to say is that we feel what would be best for you & your track investment and us, would be to race on Sundays. Their are a large number of racers that feel a sense of loyalty & commitment to their home tracks and other racers, and will continue racing there on Saturdays. Additionaly, there is a contingency of racers that can not race on Saturdays do to work and other commitments. The potential market for a Sunday offroad track is large and all that is needed is a quality track that is willing to meet that need and listen to the racers of North Eastern Ohio.

We have raced pan cars inside for the last few years. I pretty much have everything a pan car could want in the store now. I will end up with everything for the outdoor venue as well in time. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. But watch what I put together in a few months

You guys will just come here and say WOW

The track is located inside Reagan Park so there is no address technically. But.....you can Map Quest:

699 Bowman Ln
Medina Oh, 44256.

That address will get you onto the road the track is on but you will need to go about 1000' farther down the road.

Chris

Sorry Freddie but he asked! Good luck on your track.

I vote for Sunday also. Not because we run Saturdays but mainly because then I can go to the track and just RACE!!!! Don't get me wrong I love running the races but I also like being able to just race from time to time.

I was trying not to step on Freddies toes. There is a thread here on Hobby talk for our track.

Freddie come out and check out the track... Throughout the winter months many of us traveled all over the state checking out other facilities and meeting alot of good people. I personally know nothing of dirt oval racing, therefore have not had the chance to meet you or that group of racers. It sounds interesting and I will make an effort to make it over to check out what the scene is all about.

Ok humor me, why Sunday's ?

Because ALL tracks within an hour or 2 from you run on Saturday's (Oakhill, McCulloughs, Medina, Columbus, etc.). I agree with the above, we need a track to run Sunday's. I brought this up last year, if it rains on a Saturday, the weekend is shot if you want to race. But as you stated, you need to feel it out and see what happens. Whenever a new track opens up everyone is excited.

I sort of know all of that, then ask yourself why ?

I am a little bit more than a track, think about it. I have a starting point where it goes from there we will all see

freddie, you need to triple the size of your hobbyshop, you may want to do that first !! or do it all in sections, as you complete each track !! pan car/carpet section, 1/4 scale section, ( would need to be bigger, for the bigger parts ) and a off road section, this needs to be even bigger yet, you gotta stock hpi and traxxas monster truck parts, plus at least 3-4 brands full of buggy stuff !! is there any more land there you can buy ?? lmao !!!! place is gonna be killer by mid summer !! and dont forget parking !! need lots of parking !!

Freddie's Hobbies
04-07-2007, 07:49 AM
You really need to stop by, and see my little store. Its safe to say you have never been to a hobby shop that has more pan car stuff than I do, and Traxxas stuff ? what dont I have. and I have everything for a Savage. If I sell something I have all the parts for it. Its just the way I am.

We will sell a few lines of 1/8 scales and 1/10th scales, and we will have every part for those cars/trucks. Not to worry I got this under control
Just stop buy and enjoy this year

In my opinion it looks like what Freddie has going on is great. The Paved Oval is awsome and the workmanship is top notch. I look forward to becoming a regular racer on the upcoming dirt track soon as it opens. X( Just need to get the car together.

I think that a Saturday Night under the lights would be awesome. I have raced full size cars in the past and just the feel of the night air and the smell of race fuel just adds to the enjoyment..
Just my 2 cents

Ok, freddie are you off of your duff yet? Where's the dirt track? The fact that you have been working dawn till dusk on the oval track the past few months is irrelevant! LOL. If you would quit hanging with those circle jerk guys we could have a dirt track already!

Good luck with the big race this weekend.

was watching tv and the good old boys ran nascar on dirt track.
how about a 600 foot run line dirt oval. 200 foot str. 100 foot turns. 10+ degree banks.
then have a off road track on the inside. now that would be a track.

hey freddie

steel city is running 4 classes of li-po and brushless
21.5 must be a new motor. we could do that

BIGKAHUNA
07-23-2007, 08:36 AM
briano_72: Ahhhh, Grasshopper, you have not all the wisdom.. Right now there are "3" motors available from Novak, and soon to be "4th", the 21.5. The 21.5, 17.5. 13.5 and the 10.5 will be the motors legal in ARCOR competiton. As for rushing out to buy a motor, I would wait just a couple of weeks, when I will get the final rules out for each class, then you can make a wise decision. On the other hand, the way the rules will be structured, you could run that 13.5 in two classes, Lipo and NiMh. When all is done, there will be 4 classes with Lipo and 4 classes with NiMh, Modified classes may be added at the Tracks option, which will have a "any brushless/any speed control" rule for both NiMh and Lipo's.

It just takes time and we wan't to do it right from the start, not hodge podged the rules, only to change them two weeks after they are out. Some will like the rules and others will not, that's life....
