i was just running a motor that recently had capaciters taken off of the outside of the top. after about 30 sec it started smoking, if i put the capaciters back on would that stop or were they there for no reason?? :confused:

never had that prob., but doesnt look good !

The capacitors are there to reduce radio interference.
I don't think the smoking motor is from them.
Sounds like you may have it overgeared.

what motor did you do this to??????? and what were you running it on?
